Hello, I decided to come to this website, recommended by someone on the Netmums website, because I want to find out how to claim my bank charges back. I thought I heard that you cannot claim at the moment as the banks are going to Court next year for the Courts to decide whether charges should be made or not? :???: Does anyone know if this is true? Or can I still process a claim? Thank you. :)

Hi Bobbles, welcome to CAG.

You can still put in a claim for your charges. Some courts are still putting the cases through, but not all. You need to send an S.A.R.(Subject Access Request) for all of the data your banks has filed away on you. This is £10 for the statements and other comments they hold, no more than that. If you have 2 or 3 accounts with the same bank, then it is still £10 for the lot.

Before you start the process of getting your charges back, please have a thorough read of the FAQs (there’s a Step by Step guide here too). You should print both of these out to refer to, so as to avoid having to ask basic questions later. Our aim is to make you aware of your rights as a consumer, enabling you to fight back against unlawful bank, credit and store card charges. In the website you will find information on how you could get your money back

Then look at other threads in your bank’s forum, so as you know what you can expect to happen.
