Save your money for now, Otelo is free and will look into the complaint for you.

If in doubt, contact a qualified insured legal professional (or my wife... she knows EVERYTHING)

We went to"Talk Talk" a couple of years ago and paid for connection for Internet and Phone lines after 2 months we finally got a phone line after calling them every day , we still had no internet after another month I said enough was enough and we cancelled the whole package, they then tried to bill us for both Internet and Phone. I refused to pay either as we didnt get the service we had signed up for after a few threatening letters which were binned they seemed to have died off , the ironical thing is we went to Tiscali!!! back to square one the service has steadily got worse we got cut off because of an error in their accounts and it took them 6 days to reconnect us and then offered us £10 as compensation.

Hasten to add we are going back to BT !!!!

Thell the DCA that your are disputing your account with TT and have complainted to OTELO, so until they have determined your complaint, you'll not be dealing with them, so pass the issue back to their clients. This is assuming it is for the account in dispute. How is this 'previous account' not yours? Also, you cannot add interest unless they agree (and that isn't going to happen). You'll only get this if you go to court, win and the don't pay thw award within 28 days. THEN interest will apply, as long as you remembered to ask for interest at judgement.

I was with Tiscali before it was taken over by Talk Talk, we had Sky so thought it would be easier to have everything on the same bill. I contacted Tiscali and got a Mac code off them in October 2009 and joined sky broadband ( much faster and better) in November 2009. A couple of months later i got a bill from Talk Talk ( they were still charging me 3 months on) .

I contacted them and emailed them the letter with the Mac code and my confirmation with sky, I had no reply so assumed it was finished, until I had a letter from SRJ Pay.

I phoned them and told them the situation but am still having letters from them.

Hear this one guys, my son received a bill from talk talk for 333.39 he has not been with talk talk at all, he was with tiscali many years ago. Anyway tel them and said it was a technical error as they were updating their systems and will refund any money he has paid, apparently arount £360 for a previous bill, he said he wanted a refund as this was all bulls/// and they said they would refund it. Now received another bill For £339.49 asking for payment, considering he has had no account with TT and not paid anything, where is the refund coming from. Anyway I get a letter from my bank stating a dd has been taken out of my account for £338 apparently a fraudulent act? What do you make out of this. TT has admitted I have no account with them so how did they get my bank details.

  • 1 month later...

Hey. Im new to this as Im sick of Talk Talk and needed advice.

I ended with Talk Talk in September last year and went to BT (who werent much better as they mis-sold me a contract) an now Ive changed again to sky.

The contract was ended in September because of faulty services and their incompetence mainly. My internet kept going down and I had to call them all the time to sort it. My phone was crackling since the summer. I work in the USA half the year an when I phoned home I thought it was just a bad connection till I was told it was the actual house phone. I returned a couple of months later to fond it was still the same, so bad we coudnt hear the other person and then it died all together. I phoned Talk Talk from another phone to explain and when our line came back I phoned them from it so they could hear the bad crackling. They said it wasnt their problem, it was a BT line. I phoned them an they said it was TTs problem as I was paying them. After a month of calls BT decided to come and try sort it. They found it was the main unit box at the top of the street that was causing the problem, nothing to do with me or in my house as I would get a £120 call out charge if it was. Now if it took that long to fix an I had no proper phone service for months then why should I be expected to pay? I couldnt get any help from them whatsoever and was told I couldnt talk to anyone higher up the chain so I asked him to sort it and he said he couldnt!

As I said the contract has been ended since September and I had no word from them until a debt collection agency letter came in demanding £35 in January. My mum paid it against my judgment. Now I just recieved another agency demanding £49.74. Talk Talk said I owe them another £19.74 and there is a £30 late payment fee.

Why wasnt I informed that I owed the money? Why did they go straight to a debt collection agency without my knowing of it? When you try and phone them or join the forum it says you cant because they dont recognise your number as they cancelled your account.

What should I do? Im sure Ive paid them more than they deserve and that I should have at least a refund for their faulty services which I still had to pay for.

Hi Badger,

sounds like TT are at it again, you get conflicting messages everytime you call so best thing to do will be to record the conversation if you can - and tell them to state their name for the benefit of your recording then proceed with the conversation - this alone will make them think 2ce about what they tell you.

If you dont get anywhere then read through this forum - I know there are people higher up that you can email and they will deal with your issue as you are not getting anywhere with their call center.

Out of curiosity how long did the issue go on for before you finished with TT?

Hey Fro.

Thanks for your reply.

The crackling and lack of phone line went on for about 3-4 months. I know this as I start work in NY at the start of June and I had phoned home then and when I got home in August it was still the same and I called them loads of times and just got bounced between BT and TT passing the responsibility. It took till the end of September, beginning of October to sort it and shortly after that the contract ended. So I had no proper phone service from about June through Sept and they say I have a phone bill which hasnt been paid, even though we hardly used the phone cause it didnt work properly, also we were paying for the unltd calls package so where did the phone costs come from. We used our mobiles more than the house phone too an that cost us even more to do that.

Hi - sound like they owe you a refund, they are meant to refund you £1.20 per day for every day they are not providing a service, not sure about the figure but its £1 something.

were all you communications with them over the phone or did you write to them? letter or email?

It was mainly over the phone unfortunately, I shouldve sent an email then when I was in service with them but Ive sent two emails this week about the debt agency letter, the state of their customers services not helping me and also mentioned them telling me to call BT to sort it out.

Hey.

I got a phone call today from someone at Talk Talk head office apologising for all the grief we've been put through and that the debt had been cancelled and we wont hear from them again. I emailed the chairman and a member of head office using the addresses that people have posted here. Dido was the member of head office.

Thanks to everyone who helped.

seems talk talk are finally facing up to their poop services and the distress its causing people... I do however have 2 new email addresses which i've not seen on the forums for you to consider using from the CEO's office is a lovely lady called Sarah White - sarah.white@talktalkplc.com and the escalations team on TTEscalations@cpwplc.com

hope they are of some use to some one xX

I too have had some success with them regarding their treatment of elderly and infirm customers and their bullying tactics but common sense prevailed and they admitted defeat and promptly have gone away

Thanks for this info.

We have come a long way since I started this thread-and I was then with Virgin Media.

I have to say that having been with TT now for over a year-I really have to say they have cleaned up their act.

Rest assured if that wasnt the case you would hear about it.

I am interested in the recent posts and also observed that we dont have a TT customer rep on the site-lets see if they are interested.

I also think it would be good for those with ongoing issues to start their own threads which makes it easier to follow.

If you are one of those-then either send a report via the black triangle or else pm me and we can start a thread with your posts.

Keep the input coming-good or bad.

I did, but it was removed, I don't think we are allowed 'freedom of expression' in this forum

If you posted something that could be seen as libelous, the site team will remove the post and thread as it's the CAG cannot afford to defend a liable action from any big company. If you start a nice polite thread about your troubles, and what has happened, I'm sure you'll get some help.
