Brief run down- sent initial letter requesting £3600 back in charges 4 weeks ago.Received a response saying thay would look into it but could take 8 weeks!

I sent my LBA and the date up for their response is almost up. Today I received a letter from them saying

"We are currently investigating your complaint that you raised 4 weeks ago, I am sorry for the delay you are experiencing and I would like to take this oppotunity to thank you for your patience.

Our research is taking longer than expected because we want to make sure a full investigation is done.If we are unable to complete our investigation beforehand we will write to you again in 4 weeks to let you know how we are getting on.

I am sorry that it is taking longer than originally thought and would like to reassure you that your complaint is very important to us."

Is this usual from Abbey?

Do I stick to my time scales and file an MCOL when it was due anyway?

Any help gratefully received.

I found MCOL a doddle. You can cut & paste from the templates in the library straight to the N1.
