Okay, heres my reply from the Halifax.

 

I sent the letter off asking for statements from July 2001 to date

 

They've sent me Dec 2001 to March 2002. Not quite what I'm looking for, but I do have a letter that states:

 

Dear xxxxxx

As you requested I am sending you the following details of your Direct Debits which were unpaid therefore the charges have been occured on your account. These charges are done automatically by the system, since they are the condition of your account. In future please be sure when they are due so that you don't get anymore charges.

1. xxxx

2. xxxx

3. xxxx

If you need any more information, blah blah blah

 

Don't think much of the grammar and it's not what I asked for as there's no amount included, but at least I've got admission that the charges are applied automatically by the system. :-D

 

Going to phone up Tuesday and chase the rest of the statements.

  • Halifax - 1st Request for £3748.80 sent 10/06 Settled in full and 5% donated


  • Goldfish - Unable to comment further, have a read


  • Lloyds - Data Protection Act sent 19/04 1st estimated request for £1500 sent15/08 LBA sent 08/09


  • Carphone Warehouse - Data Protection Act sent 19/04 Chased 04/07 ICO complaint 18/07


  • First National - 1st Request for £280 sent 05/05 Settled in full and 5% donated


  • Yes car credit - LBA sent 19/07 Court Action launched 26/09


  • HFC Bank - 1st Request for £100 sent 06/06 Settled in full and 5% donated

I had a similar email from Halifax, just like this one - written by someone in a rush (I'm trying to be kind about their spelling) and even teling me the cost of letters for one period - even though these were never added to my debt.

 

I can only assume that your post was redirected to the first person who offered to deal with it, and they clearly haven't been bought up to speed with our work!! lol
