Hi All

Wondering if you can offer any advice.

Unauthorised purchases have now been made on amazon account on 3 occasions.

once 30th august, went through the process with amazon changed password etc never thought about it again.

next time was Thursday 10th October, contacted amazon again and they said fraud dept would be in touch within 48 hours, heard nothing despite making further enquiries took 5 days for them to put money back on gift card balance.

next time was today and been in touch with amazon again who have said the fraud dept will be in touch today - not heard anything yet.

My question is

what is the minimum standards we can expect from amazon.

Their fraud dept is not contacting us,

it's not possible to speak to someone

and the password has been changed each time,

so how is it possible that it's still happening?

Thanks for any advice.

it happens because they store your bank account details on their system rather than requiring soem input each time you purchase things

You will need to cancel the authority via your bank and tell the bank what is happening rather than rely on Amazon.

Once someone has your account detaisl they will be able to dip in when they feel like it, possibly because you use mobile banking and that link has been compromised.

you mention ghift card balance- if your email has been compromised the fraudsters will use software that traws through your emails and computer looking for such things' you need to do a sweep of anything that connects to the internet that you own and clean them up/update securirty etc. that includes your telly and games consoles
