When you hear a Judge crticise the management of a company like Thames Water for their bad behaviour, it reminds you of the poor agressive behaviour by water companies we see on CAG. E.g using High Court enforcement on debts owed by customers.

Water/sewerage provision should never have been privatised, as there is no evidence to support greater investment by these companies in maintaining infrastructure. You hear reports of water leaks going unrepaired for many weeks, after being reported. Bills seem to increase every year. Excessive profits mostly end up going to foreign investors overseas, as most are foreign owned.

About time it was renationised !

We could do with some help from you.

Guest Mrs Hobbit

Where I live two water companies control the water, we are with one company, the street behind us is with another company. then the main street into our estate are with the company I am with, the streets running off the main road are with the other company...it is a complete mess. Both water companies have the pumping station. We cannot change over to the other company neither can the other companies customers change to the company I am with. both water companies are the pits...Maybe the District Councils should take back control of the water.

IMHO, water supply should be re nationalised - the private companies were supposed to invest in maintenance and new technology - which appears hasn't been done - with the companies preferring to keep their shareholders happy and in profit.

I found this info out from a plumber who works for Essex and Suffolk water when he came to replace my water meter (with a smart one!)

From April this year, commercial companies can choose who they take their water from. In 2020, that will be extended to the domestic market. This may encourage competition but I doubt it.

What it will mean for me is that I can then choose to have one company instead of the two I have at present. (ES Water for...erm...water! Anglian water for the sewage)

If you are asked to deal with any matter via private message, PLEASE report it.

Everything I say is opinion only. If you are unsure on any comment made, you should see a qualified solicitor

+1

Shareholders dividends and senior managements salaries and perks have done very very very well

Should be renationalised at the price the shares were originally sold for.

The Tory Legacy

Record high: Taxes, Immigration, Excrement in waterways, energy company/crony profits

Crumbling: Hospitals, Schools, council services, businesses and roads

If only the Govt had thrown a protective ring around care homes

with the same gusto they do around their crooked MPs
