dwf for old Santander Car Finance loan

Hi All

I have had two letters now from DWF debt collection agency saying they are acting for santander.

I bought a car in 2007 and paid for it, last payment in 2009

 

they have sent me a letter saying i owe santander 2,666.75 ( which was more than the car at 2,300??)

that means i never paid fpor the car.

I paid every month!!

 

i would not still be driving round in a car i didnt pay for it

 

I cant prove it as i have moved three times since and after so long i have no paperwork.

my old bank account no longer exists.

 

shall i ignore it or what shall i do.

have never known someone send me anything like this .

it was 2007 to 2009 i paid for it??

ps i ddefinately paid for the car.

 

 

i still have it. if i hadnt paid for it i would have got rid of it!!!

Well you need to get copies of the statements – or other evidence of your payments. That's the starting point.

 

Did you pay Santander from a Santander account? If so, and if you don't have the paperwork and start off by sending Santander an SAR.

 

If you paid Santander some account from another bank, then send that bank an SAR and also one to Santander

I would suggest you write back to them asking for absolute proof of this debt. Highly unlikely they will have it.

 

As the last payment was in 2009 you could also state that IF a debt really did exist, it would be Statute Barred as there is a period of more than 6 years since last payment made.

 

Please check your credit file as well (just in case)

I contacted my bank today and they wont tell me about my old bank account as i got married since! frustrating.

 

 

am visiting bank tomorrow.

satans bank are GE money [parent company]

 

 

so its satans bank that are getting the wolves to chase you

so i'd talk to them..
