Ford Finance tell me that they have no record of PPI payments

because the account was paid off more than 6 years ago.

However a CMC tell me that for an upfront fee of £70 per claim they can get access to this information

without any paperwork or account numbers.

They call this fee a deposit which will be refunded on completion and suggest payment by credit card.

They then charge 25% of any subsequent compensation.

Any advice would be appreciated

please don't hit Quote...just type we know what we said earlier..

DCA's view debtors as suckers, marks and mugs

NO DCA has ANY legal powers whatsoever on ANY debt no matter what it's Type

and they

are NOT and can NEVER  be BAILIFFS. even if a debt has been to court..

If everyone stopped blindly paying DCA's Tomorrow, their industry would collapse overnight...

Hi Thefull and Welcome to CAG....

The clue is in the following....

"They call this fee a deposit which will be refunded on completion and suggest payment by credit card.

They then charge 25% of any subsequent compensation."

Once they have your card number...whether they are successful or not...wave goodbye to your " deposit " and possibly more.

You could test them by calling them and telling that you have no CC but you can pay them by postal order instead, - will they accept that???

But anyway, you can do it yourself. for free

Thanks very much for your help. I have tried to do it myself but when I asked Ford Credit for the account history they tell me that they have no records over 6 years old. What's my next step?

Have a read at the other threads similar to yours. The answers are there for you to read. Some history to the debts would help start the ball rolling!

If they genuinely have no record, then no other person can get them either, so you would pay your £70 and probably hear nothing further except 'sorry you can't have a refund as that was an admin charge.'

Send them an SAR, they must legally respond to it.
