Barclaycard has stopped collecting payments

Hi everybody

 

I ran into financial difficulties 2.5 years go and

arranged with Barclaycard (peviously Egg) to pay £75 per month with interest and charges frozen on a £10,000 debt.

 

 

This was paid by direct debit and I have not missed any payments.

 

 

I have just noticed that they have stopped taking the money

- the last one being in November.

 

 

Does anyone know what this means?

 

 

Is it a prelude to heavier action?

Easiest way is to either contact Barclaycard & ask them or

 

check your Credit Files to see if Barclaycard are still listed as the owners?

 

Have you got all of your Credit Card Statements to claim back unfair late payment fees and any PPI if applied?

 

If you are contacted ever by a DCA, keep everything in writing, refuse to go through DPA and hang up, then submit a CCA request.

Thanks, there's no mention on my credit file but I'll contact Barclaycard and ask them. If they have sold it on then that's a good thing, yes?

i woudl also do a full subject access request to get as much paperwork on hand

yes sar to BC is a must

 

 

although you might get better results from the egg Canadian square address

 

 

how old is the card?

 

 

seems strange BC let it run for this long with a £10k balance and not litigate

me thinks you've lots of PENALTY charges & PPI here

I had my 2 egg cards stop showing on my Barclaycard internet banking for about 1 year, then all of a sudden they seemed to remember and start the chase again

You've not said if you think there are penalty charges or PPI on the a/c's ?

 

These could be significant in reducing the balance owed so, if you don't have all your old a/c statements, get them with a single SAR to Egg's Canada Square address.

Never had PPI on any account and no charges

But they have confirmed in writing no CCA's
