;) Hello peops!

I am sending my 1st letter to Halifax (recorded delivery of course!!) tomorrow to claim back a total of £694.00 but just wanted to makesure i have done this correctly.

Could somebody please let me know if it is Customer Relations PO Box 548, Leeds, LS1 1WU I send all correspondence to?

Also i am claiming £213 from one Halifax account and £481 from the other Halifax account. Is it ok to claim this as a total one off claim for £694 and include both claims in one letter? The breakdown of charges i have inc. in the letter clearly states which charges are from which account and gives a clear breakdown for both.

Thanx for your help!

Aimee

  • 3 weeks later...

 Hiya all. Just to let you know i posted my letter as explained previously and to my suprise i received a standard letter back from Halifax within the time limit! I am claiming back £694 in total for two accounts and was clearly excited at the fact that they offered me a high 'settlement' figure for my complaint! (£444 in total!) I need to know if people think it's worth me accepting this offer or go the whole way as i intended to & claim the full amount back inc. interest? Am very tempted to keep the £444 as it will save me the hassle of more letters, etc but then i am completeley entitled to claiming back the full amount! Please help, i'm stuck!!!

ps is this correct updating my prev post or should i have opened a new thread?

Thanx

Aimee

Hi aimee, It is entirely your choice wether you accept their offer, if you feel it is adequate then accept but if you feel that it is ALL of your money and you want it ALL back then write a letter of rejection http://www.consumeractiongroup.co.uk/forum/bank-templates-library/25716-rejection-settlement-offer.html accepting as part payment then carry on with claim. You will only be able to get the 8% interest if it gets to court stage.

And yes it is correct updating this thread

Good Luck

Hello again, i have decided i am going to go the whole way and claim the full £694 in charges back! As said previously that money is lawfully mine. So, i need to send the next letter off (which is the template above) Could somebody please let me know how long they get to respond to this letter as i am confused?! Do i give them another 14days? The 14 days i outlined in my first letter is up on 27th nov so do they only have until this date to respond to another letter?

Also the standard letter they sent me stated they were obliged to close my account, has this happened to anyone else who has taken their claim further?? I'm scared!!

Is it likely that their next letter will be sent as promptly as their 1st?

All your comments are very gratefully received.

Thanx

Aimee
