They dont issue fines.

Either ignore them, or write return to sender not known at this address and post it.

Dont give it too much thought. DWF and any company involved in this sector cant do anything. Especially knocking at your door. It sounds like someone gave a false address. SImply send it back and leave it at that.

Any advice i give is my own and is based solely on personal experience. If in any doubt about a situation , please contact a certified legal representative or debt counsellor..

Hi and welcome to CAG.

Do not bother to contact them-ever. Just send the letter back as 'not known at this address'

If they continue sending letters then we can help you stop them.

If you are asked to deal with any matter via private message, PLEASE report it.

Everything I say is opinion only. If you are unsure on any comment made, you should see a qualified solicitor

No need to contact them. They won't believe you. They have absolutely no legal powers to do anything.

Sadly it looks as though someone has given your address rather than their own. Seems a bit odd that they have given their own name though ! Anyway, as advised, you should NOT make contact with them - just reseal the envelope and mark "Return to sender - not known at this address "

If they send you any more letters, then let us know - you might need to write to their Head office and make a formal complaint. At the present you do not know if this is a genuine error on their part, and when they receive it back they will check their records. It becomes harassment, if they continue to send these after you have made it clear that there is no one of that name at your address.

I have to say that the OP's situation reminds me so much of the incident that happened to this elderly gentleman a few years ago. (If I am allowed to give the link on here).

very scary. According to that article,. RLP made the suggestion that they were bailiffs or could call them in without due process.

I have to say that due to the relevance of this forum in connection with that article,

I was amazed that it had not been mentioned up until I just mentioned it now.

Probably because it was a local news article from four years ago that it had been forgotten about.

The fact that it is four years old made me think on whether it would be out of date enough to include the link,

but it seems that nothing has changed much.

As a matter of fact, I did enclose that link on an email to the CAG some time before I joined this forum.

I do seem to recall seeing that article before. I daresay that there was a little journalistic licence on the part of the paper (the RLP letter probably mentioned what COULD ultimately happen in the event of a successful CC claim rather than saying 'Hello we are bailiffs and will be coming to take your possessions...') but it does nevertheless go to show precisely how intimidating words such as 'debt collector' or bailiff can be to some people - especially those of a vulnerable nature.

Proof if it were still needed that RLP and their like have no place whatsoever in the justice system

Any advice given is done so on the assumption that recipients will also take professional advice where appropriate.
