GE Home Lending - is admin fees, solicitor fees and additional interest fair?

Hi

 

I have been putting it off for months,

 

 

I decided to get some admin done this afternoon.

 

 

While, filing a 6 monthly statement from GE Money I noticed iv been charged an administration fee of £40

together with additional interest of around £15 - £17 each month which is on top of my normal interest.

 

 

This has been happening for years, as I fell behind a few years ago and

 

 

nearly got repossessed but managed to pull myself out of the mess,

 

 

however now, 8 years on I have a mortgage that was worth £116,000 at the start,

 

 

I now owe £121,000.

 

 

Is there anything that can be done with all the charges and solicitors fees that have been added??

oh yes there is lots you can do.

 

 

have you all the statements?

 

 

if they did actually issue court papers

then the legal fees cannot be reclaimed

 

 

however, everything else can and should be

 

 

also look at any insurances they made you take out too.
