Hi All,

I am creating separate threads per debt (continuing from this thread: Will defaults be reissued if I am only making £1 token payments?) (to figure out how I can get defaults removed.

OC (DCA) Amount Owing:

Barclays OD (Credit Solutions Limited) £11,669

Last Payment: £2 on 6 May 2014 to Credit Solutions Limited as they are the ones chasing me for this debt,

I last sent them acknowledgement in Feb 2014 to setup token payments.

Per Noddle:

Lender – Barclays Bank Plc

Account Type – Current Account (Overdraft)

Status – Default

Account Start Date – (not sure and it’s not on report either but probably around 2010)

Account Default Date – 16 Sep 2012

As this is a Current Account,

can I start with CCA/SAR?

not what other route do I follow please?

How can I calculate Penalty Charges and PPI?

Thx!

yes it's an overdraft on my current account.

I have debts totaling £90k,

this is only one of them, and

it came to a point it got too much and i left it all,

threw away everything (extended unemployment, relationship troubles etc)..

left the country, for several months from Jul 2013 to around Feb 2014.

so i guess they were looking for me and passed on to DCAs?

Since I've come back, DCAs have been chasing me so I have been dealing with them..

. I didn't know I could pay Barclays direct in this case ?

I'll get the SAR going,

most interested in getting the default removed so I can get back to work

(I failed Pre-Employment Screening credit checks :( )

Hi Schwetta,

On what basis do you want the defaults removed.

You may have the right to ask that the bank stops adding interest and/or default charges if you were/are in financial difficulties.

You can also ask that they refund charges already added to your account. See the Library Article here - http://www.consumeractiongroup.co.uk/forum/showthread.php?387436-Letter-for-consideration-regarding-Hardship-or-Financial-Difficulty

Hi what makes you think the default should be removed?

Was the "default sum" made up entirely of fees and/or charges without which the account would not have been defaulted?

Barclays are quite intransigent when it comes to defaults.

I'm not saying it should be removed.

. I'm saying I'm hoping there is a way that I can have it removed as it's affecting my prospects of finding a job and paying back the monies owed..

.I was counting on a lot of luck and the strategy at learnmoney (How to attempt to remove a default notice from a credit file)....

Wasting your time with that I'm afraid.

If a default has been properly placed by a creditor there is nothing to be done, as to credit files the entries Must show an accurate and up to date picture of the conduct of an account.

Harsh but factual.

  • 2 weeks later...

I got disheartened with the responses here, no job due to bad credit and no way to fix the bad credit. no career if i wait 6 years to fix my credit, which won't happen as no job no debts paid off.. seems like a vicious cycle.

So here's another try. I read somewhere about "Pay to Delete", any idea of this? Let's say if I can manage to raise the default sums and pay in exchange for cleaning up the bad credit?

Hi Schwetta,

If you pay off whatever amount is due or in arrears, the CRA markers will be amended to reflect the new improved status of your a/c.

However, the historical adverse markers will remain on record in the normal way for 6 years.
