Hi all.

I have a Very account with a credit limit of £750. The balance is currently £294. I've only ever spent £200 on the card.

I paid way more than the minimum every month until i had a dispute with them.

I ordered a rug but didn't like it and sent it back. the money never got credited back to my account.

They sent it to NDR. and then capquest.

there's loads of late payment, administration fees and interest every month.

Its now under my debt management plan with step change but i really think its wrong.

I dont have all the statements and letters but have written to capquest and very with a SAR and a CCA request and am awaiting a response.

Any help?

DCA's view debtors as suckers, marks and mugs

NO DCA has ANY legal powers whatsoever on ANY debt no matter what it's Type

are NOT and can NEVER  be BAILIFFS. even if a debt has been to court..

If everyone stopped blindly paying DCA's Tomorrow, their industry would collapse overnight...

I hope to! They've placed lots of late fees and default on my credit file when I was in the process of challenging them about the rug.

They bombarded me with letters and sentbit to so many dca. I'm sure most of the balance is made of charges and interest!

SAR is 40 calendar days. CCA is 12+2 working days. If they havent responded in that time, use the follow up letter from the CAG library. Dont chase up the CCA, unless they remain in default of the request AND they are still trying to threaten legal action.

Any advice i give is my own and is based solely on personal experience. If in any doubt about a situation , please contact a certified legal representative or debt counsellor..

Isnt NDR also their inhouse DCA? You can reclaim the charges regardless. All you need are the statements to show which amounts were charges. Then you select all the unlawful penalty charges, calculate the interest they charged you on them, and reclaim them.

ok thanks for all your help!

i think NDR is their collections department. It seems to be how all these places operate! Is capquest linked to very in the same way?

im still waiting for a response so i'll see what they come up with!

I'll update when i get a response!

just to add...

shop direct sent me a couple of sums in arrears letters and

a couple of default sums in arrears letters

saying a default will be applied to my account.

I did call them to dispute this but got no where (i know i should have written to them

but was really worried at the time and didnt think i could wait for the longer process of letter writing.

now i do everything in writing!)

NDR also sent me a pre-escalation notice.

Not sure if this makes any different but thought it was worth telling you guys!

Do I need to wait for more statements from the Sar if they have any so I can work out all my charges?

I've only got a few of the letters as they got lost when I moved!

I know I didn't have ppi on this one.
