Debt collection agency is chasing me for limited company debt for a company that closed about 4 years ago. They claim I was a guarantor and that the debt would have been registered with credit agencies which will affect my ability to get credit. I cannot remember but I might have signed as a guarantor and money owed relates to overdraft. Any advice would be appreciated.

Ask them to produce a copy of the Guarantor Agreement...dont admit or acknowledge or pay until you are satisfied it is legal.

I'm afraid that if they prove you made the guarantee you will have to pay.

It is after all what the guarantee is intended for.

Any Letters I Draft are N0T approved by CAG and no personal liability is accepted.
