Hi,

 

I am looking for some advice. I have 2 accounts on hold with MMF originally payday loan companies that i am dspsuting. Now they have placed a default on my account for another account that i no nothing about. They said it is a mail order catalogue but i have only one catalogue that i currently use and am up to date with.

 

I have had no notice of the default or ownership of an account with them. I was looking for advice on how to deal with this. I havent had a default for 3 years now so am desperate to reconcile this.

 

I no not to talk to this company on the phone. They are idiots.The default on my credit file says account opened Sept 2012 account defaulted Dec 2012 at my old address (have checked with my parents they have had no mail for me). The amount is £750 (dont know if you need that).

You need to send them a prove it letter, and also write to the data controller of the company that is noted on your file and tell them to remove it.

 

It could be that someone is using your details. Possibly fraud. Get the info from the creditor, and then if you still have no clue, contact actionfraud.org.uk or your local police station.

Any advice i give is my own and is based solely on personal experience. If in any doubt about a situation , please contact a certified legal representative or debt counsellor..

Hi all,

 

I am having so many problems with these people. They have taken to ignoring me completely. Some background information. Debt appeared on credit file in dec 2012 stating that I had opened a 'catalogue account' in sept 12 and defaulted in dec 12. I have only one catalogue account and i am using it. I kept getting text message and my parents kept getting phone calls from them so i sent them a CCA request and included a letter stating they must only communicate in writing and revoking their right to door step collection.

 

14 days came and went so i sent them a reminder about this and waited a month. Still nothing. So sent them an account in dispute letter it has been another month now and I have heard nothing.

 

What I want to know is what to do next. I dont owe the money, I havent been a victim of ID fraud. What do i do to make them remove this. The credit referencing agencies are useless and give me no help and due to moving recently I cant use noddle it wont let me pass the check bit at the beginning as i am not on the electrol roll at the new address yet.

 

Any help would be brilliant

You need to write to their data co troller and dema d they remove the entry within 14 days. If they dont, then you issue a lba and then take them to small claims court. I would also advise contacting the ico asap and tell them that mmf are ignoring all communication

Hi thanx for the advice.

 

I have a few questions i hope thats ok.

 

What is the ICO?

Would the same apply to defaulted bank accounts. I have sent santander and lloyds SAR requests and they have failed to comply with them. The defaulted balance were made up of charges and interest they added because they didnt follow my letter to close down all direct debits and shut the bank account, as i changed banks (i no this doesnt come under MMF buts its still the same problem). I even had a txt message from santander saying the were dealing with the request and then recieved nothing.
