I bought a new build in 2007 with the tie in of a management company charge of approximately £100.00 each year. The management has changed hands several times.Following my divorce, I wished the deeds to refelct my maiden name, not my married name. Land Registry approached the management company for consent to do this. Why would they do this? My property is Freehold, and the management company basically mow the lawns around the apartments on the estate. Surely, as a Freehold property, Land Registry do not require consent.

If property is freehold there will be no ground rent. It sounds like the £100 is a service charge to look after communal areas, this is normally for leasehold properties, flats, etc but it can exist for freehold houses.

I dont think the management company would have anything to do with this, you just need to get a solicitor to change the title details, Ive had this done, in my case the approached the freeholder (as mine is leasehold flat) to get permission but dont believe it is required in your case.
