Unreliable Payday

Just a question really. Can my employer say he will pay us around a certain date every month or has it got to be on a specific day ?

Iv done a bit of research (not official) and found that an employer is supposed to pay you on a specific day and if Bank holidays are involved i.e Bank holiday falls on a Monday, wages should go in on the Friday.

It can be on or around a date (my contract states this). At Christmas, we often get paid two weeks early!

 

It should be on or before a date though, as good practice.

Thanks for that, so nothing has to be set in stone

To be honest, it's pretty awkward not being able to rely on a set date.
