Here I go again. Sorry in advance to those who aren't shiply related because I'm going to moan!

 

Shiply is a great idea however executed badly! They are great for taking your money and giving the van driver a deposit! BUT completely inadequate, and and non-responsive to users who experience problems with van drivers! I will never use again! They have no interest for YOUR problem, have no contact numbers for problems, and would rather just take your money and keep it.

I've tried find a van driver through Shiply, and managed to do so 2-3 times however most the people on there have no feedback and are a complete waste of time. You dont actually figure this out until you've at least tried it. So I list an item, and accept, the next is to make a payment and so I do payment to shiply and the driver. Later the the van driver gives me the excuse that his van broke down so i'm stuck.

 

The ebay buyer then pulls out, i'm stuck again and have to relist.

 

This happened 4 months ago, in the mean time they said they credited my account and that I could use the site again.. not costing anything. Well 3-4 months later when I returned they did no such thing, had to go through the whole process of making a complaint again! So I then wait 3 days for them this time to make a decission. Well now it's listed as successful deliveries!

 

I dont have a lot of time on my hands to waste time on this, but I'd like others to know whats really like to deal with this site. It sounds great.. if it did work!

 

If they had a better screening of the drivers, and better customer service it would be of use. However it's just another site that allows for customers to get the shaft.

I am relativly new to shiply and although the concept is good i find the Management and way its executed is appalling, i find that its just a bench marking site for people who bid on stuff on ebay hoping to win stuff at stupid prices, and want to get a guote on delivery for peanuts i found 1 person that had listed 37 cars going to the same place, when i bid on a boat or vehicle move i never hear a thing back and the client does not even bother to answer questions, some of them cant even stretch past 1 word for the delivery description, i would love to know what the conversion rate is from listings to actual jobs being completed, i have been a high level marketing and sales consultant for many years and there are far better ways to do this, like making a small charge to list the item. then making another small charge for every day the listing is active, this would keep the shipping prices higher( creating more profit for shiply as they work on percentage) and keeping the bench markers away. also asking the client to make a descriptive sentence of what they want moving, and even having a target price that you can bid on straight away and win the job, ( like buy it now ) i could go on forever but i will stop now, i find Uship and anyvan a little better but maybe i should start up my own site !

I've used Shiply a few times and never had a problem. But I am very careful about who I give the bid to (its rarely the cheapest). Mine have all been large furniture items but as I say, I've never had a problem. I've not so sure it would be smooth if I did have any cause to complain.

Its always good to see positive reports as well as the complaints.

From what we have seen already,the main complaints do seem to concern getting a response or a complaint dealt with when they are sent.

This is tantamount to the standing and customer loyalty to any brand of goods or services provider and it is something that lets even household name companies down.

It is disappointing that the Shipley rep did not respond to the last issue here.It can make a big difference if they at least can be seen to want to try sorting.

Have used Shiply since it first started, had a nightmare recently with a company with absolutely no comms. Had to relist delivery! Need a refund for first agreement as delivery company were deadbeat! Ended up agreeing through Shiply with someone else who has collected and delivered for me before - here is my mail to shiply (BTW HAVE SPENT AN HOUR QUEUEING ON SHIPLY PHONE NUMBER OVER 2 DAYS AND NOT GOT THROUGH TO ANYONE

 

Hi,

 

On sunday I put up a delivery on your site, I had several quotes and then accepted on on basis that the collection would be Wednesday or Thursday. By Wednesday despite calling emailing and trying other numbers no one had contacted me. When I spoke to someone, she said I was not on the list for yesterday or today. She called the driver and he had no knowledge of the job.

 

I tried to call you at Shiply, but waited 35 mins and was in a queue.Then I tried again this morning and queued for about 10 mins and had to go to work.

 

I then got an email from the collection agent saying he would collect. I said the seller did not know he had to be in and why hadn't they returned any calls emails and the reception girl said she had no knowledge of collection and nor did driver who she called.

 

I need to cancel this job asap as I have found someone else I used before who emailed me when i put the job up on shiply again. The rogue person who did not confirm or get back to me was TFlogist1 (1571) I need a refund as someone else has now collected via shiply.
