Moonstar14 and cancellation problem with Bannatynes Gym

hi can any one help i have the same problem with bannatynes i have to have a operation becouse i have a hernya in me tummy that i got at bannatynes gym becouse i did not have proper supervision i have been a member for 3 years and i was told by one of there staff if i got a doctors letter i could give 1 months notice becouse i can not use the facilitys i gave the the letter from the hospital on 3rd march but they took a payment out of my bank in april when i asked them about this they stated i would also have to pay for may i disagreed with that so they aplied to there head office i receved a letter from there head office to day saying they want a payment for may and a cancelation fee as well do i have any rights ?

Hi Moonstar and welcome to CAG

 

I've moved your post into your own thread that you can use from now on.

 

I think you should cancel the DD immediately or they'll take further payments without your agreement.

 

Write back to the HO and briefly summarise events to date, ie Spoke to staff about hernia on xxdate; handed in letter confirming this on xxdate.......etc.

 

Point out that you cancelled as instructed by gym staff and provided proof as requested.

 

Tell them the DD has been cancelled and they have no right to any further money from you.

 

They'll probably reply saying you still owe £XX including an admin fee. But we can deal with that in due course.

Agreed.Keep everything in writing,and keep a copy.Give them 14 days to respond and ask them to send you a copy of their complaints procedure.

They may threaten debt collection etc-as advised we can assist if that follows.
