hiya,

 

I am with littlewoods and have only just noticed charges on my account mentioned in the title. Now i may of ticked a box when i signed up im not sure but these charges are sometimes more than my minimum payment and is the reason my balance won't shift. Are they reclaimable does anyone know??

 

Please help, I need this balance gone

Yes they are and many of our members have had good success.

Can you say if you have all your statements,or else a figure for all the charges ?

Thank you for your reply.i think so, my wife files them. I looked at a PPI reclaiming site and couldn't find littlewoods or shop direct, what would be the first step?

First step is to calculate all the charges and PPI payments,and total them all up.

You can add also 8% interest on the total.

Then a preliminary letter needs to be sent to them asking for the charges/fees to be refunded.

If you dont have all of the statements,then you will need to send a request for copies of these under the Data Protection Act with the fee of 10.00

im currently trying to reclaim for shopping insurance and i have about £100 of default charges from 2009 as well

i struggled to get my acc back up to date but did in the end they sold me this insurance and im on IS

I'm thinking of trying to claim these back for my mum from K and Co (formerly Great Universal). In the past she has repeatedly told them she didn't ask for it, & that she's unemployed. They either fob her off & say "oh it's incase you damage the items" or if they take it off one month, they put it straight back on next month!

 

She also got a bit behind and had a couple of £12 late payment & insufficient payment fees. Whats so nice of them is they charge the shopping protection & cover on these fees too! She bought a hoover before xmas for £140. When she asked to put it on buy now, pay later they've put it onto the high interest over 3 years account. In thory if she clears it by Jan 2012 there is no interest to pay, but they must have front loaded the interest already. She made a £10 payment last month & only 48p went to reducing the outstanding balance, the rest went on purchase protection and interest!

I would like to know about this as well, to help my daughter - but I think in her case it may be too late. They are still pestering her but her dealings with shop direct were mainly up to 2006 when she became ill because of it. I wonder because they bring it up again to chase her could we bring up charges prior to 2006 under the same rules?

i think you can only reclaim back 6 years ive instructed a solicitor to reclaim my ppi (yes i know i could of done it myself)

its free for under £100 i think, theyve already reclaimed £60.00 of my default charges but are looking into this ppi also.

Yes you can claim the charges back beyond 6 years using the Limitation Act.
