Have to say Tom I agree with you. Nothing personal obviously FI, and your information was very interesting, but it still does not make it right that the OP was told the bailiffs had approached the water company when they didn't, thus they lied to their client which is unlawful I would think. Maybe I'm missing something!

At another recent unreported case involving Sherforce & Southern Water a private individual was being chased for something like £2k+ in total and had already paid over £1k at the time of the Hearing - this was more than sufficient to pay the original bill. The individual applied for Set Aside of the original CCJ but failed, the DJ however note the fees Sherforce were trying to charge. End result being the DJ threw out most of the fees and the individual did not have to pay another penny more. Interesting!

You can indeed send them a SAR. What you should receive back can be very revealing. However I have been told by some they have refused to comply and of course not everyone knows what to do next.

Bet it's a jumbo transit, I don't think the bailiff could justify an Iveco Eurostar probably hasn't the licence to drive it
