I've just recently (today) picked up a new set of full dentures. Fit wise they need adjusting, but I'm not satisfied with the colour, in my opinion they dont look natural. The teeth themselves are fine, its the gum that is wrong, they look too pink and when compared to my old set the difference is noticeable, to the point that they are two different shades. My question is, can I reject them? I know some people might not think its such a big issue, but it is to me, and bearing in mind its not common knowledge I wear dentures, so when my teeth and gums suddenly change colour it can be quite embarrassing.

If they dont fit and they dont look right, then yes, you can reject them, the dentist will just send them back to the lab that makes then, the dentist should be taking measurements and moulds to make sure that you get the correct fitting and the right colour, did he give you a tooth colour?

He took plenty of measurements, but tooth colour was his choice... I've had them adjusted but they still don't feel 'right'. I know I need to get used to them, last set lasted for 3yrs, but these are a noticeable difference in gum and tooth colour, they seem to sit higher in my mouth as well, and 2 of the back teeth protude and rub on my inner cheek. My last set looked 100% natural, these just look false, and its been noticed by friends that dont know which has been slightly embarrassing.

I'll ring the dentist in the morning and tell them
