Back in September 2006 I went through the process of reclaiming unfair account charges with Lloyds.

I sent a request for repayment of charges letter with no reply and then proceeded to the next step of letter before action (October 2006) to which they responded by letter that the matter was being reviewed.

With one thing and another I did not take it any further as I had success with other banks by producing the letter before action.

I have not heard a dickie bird since.

I aware that all claims made against banks are now on hold pending review.

Since my last contact with Lloyds in 2006 I have incurred further charges and was wondering if it is possible to go through the procedure of claiming again or would my previous claim process compromise this new claim.

Any advice would be most welcome.

Cheers

Not at all - all you've done so far is send letters, which they've ignored.

Go ahead and send another Letter Before Action, including the older charges as well as the newer ones, and you could probably even reference your earlier letter.

But this time, don't faff around, just get on with the process on the right timescale.

  • 3 weeks later...

Received a reply saying that they will get back to me within 4 weeks after they have conducted their enquiries regarding my complaint.

They have also provided me with a fact sheet called "voicing your Concerns"

They then go on to say " If your complaint is about the level, fairness or lawfulness of overdraft bank charges , then a different process that we have agrred with the FSA will apply. We will write to you shortly to explain how we will handle that complaint and what steps we will take to protect your rights. In responding to you we will consider all the things you have raised in your letter, as well as any further information we have about your financial circumstances."

Should I proceed with the next stage or wait 4 weeks for a response?

Getting a bit confused as they appear to be looking into my account on 2 issues.
