I posted this on one of your other threads, but it does throw up some interesting points and I've found it a good way of dealing with these to**ers. This is more-or-less verbatim and it happened to me a few months ago:

 

Them: "Mr Bassett?"

Me: "Yes"

Them: "For security purposes, will you please confirm your date of birth"

Me: "Whose security?"

Them: "Pardon"

Me: "Whose security are you concerned about here?"

Them "Yours of course"

Me: "Let me get this straight, you're telling me that for the sake of my own security, you want me to give you, a complete stranger ringing from a number that has been withheld, the kind of details that could be used to steal my identity?"

Them: "Yes"

Me: "Don't be bloody silly. Goodnight."

this is a valid point. you get threat letter "despite our previous calls" we now taking you to court.

 

provide transcripts like this and i wonder what the Judge would say!

especially if this is first contact i might add as they either phone 1st or send letter then ring the following day

yes, i'm sure it was with moorcroft over an old barclaycard account that he got a default removed from CRA over it

No its not really fuzzy as some of them cant help they have a low IQ especially if they work for a dca.

It's good that DCA staff don't have an IQ.

Just leaves an open door for the few on here that have posted funny DCA calls etc.

 

I really hope it shows others that read the more amusing threads, that there's nothing to be scared of, and to stand up to them. + Expose them for the con merchants they really are for trying to profit from the vunerable, and decent people, who have fallen on hard times through no fault of their own.

 

Life is hard enough as it is without these parasites preying on decent people who just want to live life as best they can under the circumstances.

 

One day hopefully the law will fully protect those people. Until then...

 

Spread the word and post links to the fun threads on CAG. (Plus links to template letters and useful advice too.)

 

If you can smile when life is tough, and then get some good advice on here. Plus if you can give a little back in return, then we have all acheived something good. And hopefully smile about it afterwards.

 

Worrying about DCA threatening letters should be at the bottom of the list of lifes worries.

I think you are all very naughty people , these poor sods at DCA's are just doing there jobs (wheres the tongue in cheek smiley)

Like ive said in many a thread , If they played fair then so would we .

God knows what me and mr bobble would do though .

 

 

Yes LB I toyally agree with your comment then. These DCA's are only trying to do their job. We should be nice to them and treat them with the full respect they justly deserve.

DCAs callers operate in teams of three. One can read, one can write and the third one is there to keep an eye on the two smartasses

I cant beleive what I just done. i got a threat-O-Matic from robbing way today so I just had to e-mail then straight away coz they "intend" to take me to court in 7 days time, I'm so worried I just simply had to e-mail them. the contents of my e-mail was :

 

 

 

 

Nice to see your threat-o-matic printer is still working ok judging by your letter dated 28/3/08.

 

You CLAIM that you intend to take me to court unless I contact you within 7 days. Well here you go I've contacted you.

 

I am assuming this is just YET another of your very pathetic empty threats, BUT I really, really WISH you would take me to court, I'd love to file a counter claim against you but I would so love to see the person you hire/solicitor get a slap by the judge and see him/her walk out of court red faced.

 

Please feel free to start legal proceedings against me, INFACT I invite you to take me to court. If I don't receive anything from a court lets say in the next 3 weeks I'll do it for you and take you to court.

Have to say I like your letter.

 

It is marginally more more polite than sending a parcel with a note suggesting they donate the ring pull to charity.
