  1. I came to UK on study visa in 2004. 2005 I contacted HMRC and was told by HRMC that I am entitle to Work Tax Credit back in 2005 since I and my wife both work atleast 16 hours, I sent in copy of my passport and visa to HMRC and I start getting work tax credit from 2005-2007. Since 2007 till now I never claimed any WTC. Now I have to apply for Indefinite Leave to Remain(ILR) and I have come to know that it could jeopardies my application, unless I get a written letter from HMRC that it was their admin error. I am willing to repay back all the amount of the WTC. I need a nice draft of letter to send to HMRC that will give me the evidence I need for home office. How far back in time Hmrc can take repayment back? I am not working from last 5 month unable to find a job, wife is working full time about 700 per month. I wish that hmrc give me letter that it was their admin error without me paying them all the wtc. i think the total amount would be £5-6k over 2yr period. but they would definately blame me for not reading or signing the claim form. is it too late for 2005 to 2007 back repayment. does 6 yr start from the time , i inform them? or 6 yr from 2007 or 2005? wish someone write me a draft letter for hmrc. please
