  1. I'm new here, but I found this through google and i'm looking for any advise you can provide. Yesterday I took my 2010 Ford escape through a touch-less car wash that I've used before. There was no damage to my car prior, however after I left the carwash and drove about a mile, i discovered the damage. My lower grille was hanging down and only barely connected on the underpart of the car. Needless to say the grille is now scratched beyond recognition. I called the number at the carwash and explained what had happened. The owner said he'd review the tapes and get back to me. Later that day he calls to inform me that he watched the video and it shows that the grille came off during the air blower part at the end of the wash. He told me that it had to be loose prior because air couldn't have knocked it off, then he said he'd like to see it. So I grabbed my other half and we met him there. He kept telling us that it was a ford problem and it couldn't have been the car wash because it was touch less, or that the grille had been "bumped" by another car in a parking lot without me knowing. We asked for a copy of the video and he said he would make one in the next week, we pushed a little and he said he'd go upstairs and email it to us. we wait around for 15-30 minutes and my other half goes and knocks on the door (I was on a business call) and was then informed that the computer wasn't working (seems very convenient) and tomorrow or Monday he'd get someone to look at it and get us the video. Continuing to insist we go to Ford, or that my car was bumped prior and that's how it came off. So, I've filed a claim with my insurance, e-mailed ford (it's Sunday so they're closed) and plan to head back to the wash tonight when they do their maintenance to follow up with the owner. I'm at a loss here, I am baffled at how this could happen, and that it's on video happening in his wash, wouldn't it be his fault? I researched and found that the part will cost $312, that's a lot considering it was perfect prior to the wash. The cars only parked in a garage and in handicapped spaces when out so the likelihood of anything more than a shopping cart bumping into the grille without me knowing is pretty darn slim. thank you for any guidance or help you are able to provide.
