I have just discovered to my Horror that my partner has been struggling to pay Studio24 & Next for a number of years. To the point that she stopped paying them one year ago. She has significant debt with both companies and having viewed the statements online as far as possible she has been getting charged £20 default and £30+ service charges almost every month from studio either due to being unable to pay the full amount or paying late and in the last year not at all. I do not know the exact details for next but is this is similar its looking like the bulk of the debt has been charges. We are looking at £1200 for Studio24 and about £1000 with next. Both have been passed to DCA's but her head has been in the sand and i have only found out. What's the best way to deal with these debts i think she had the accounts from about 2009 and what is the service charge for is this over and above interest? Seems a bit excessive if it is and i thought default charges were reduced to around £12.
