  1. A new trade analysis reveals the scale of Britain’s role in the international ivory trade Britain was the world’s largest exporter of legal ivory between 2010 and 2015, a breakdown of records held by the Convention on international trade in endangered species (Cites) has revealed. Not only did the UK export more ivory than anyone else to Hong Kong and China – which are considered smuggling hubs for “blood ivory” - it also sold on 370% more ivory than the next highest exporter, the USA. The new trade analysis, which is being released ahead of World Elephant Day on Saturday, will embarrass the government https://www.theguardian.com/environment/2017/aug/10/uk-named-as-worlds-largest-legal-ivory-exporter Tories quietly ditch manifesto promise to ban bloodthirsty ivory trade that kills thousands of elephants a year Prince William has backed calls for a ban on ivory sales, saying he is “not prepared to be part of a generation that lets these iconic species disappear from the wild”. https://davidshepherd.org/wp-content/uploads/2017/05/Letter-to-the-Telegraph.pdf committed to ‘press for a total ban on ivory sales’. But while we wait for them to act on it, since 2010 up to 200,000 elephants have lost their lives to the brutal ivory trade across Africa alone . The UK is trailing behind China, the USA and even war-torn South Sudan in taking domestic action to follow through on the manifesto pledges. China is honouring its pledge to end their domestic ivory trade in 2017. https://davidshepherd.org/wp-content/uploads/2017/05/Letter-to-the-Telegraph.pdf Elevents - World Elephant Day Elephants have a special place in our hearts at Myakka and feature on a wide range of our designs, ... 3. in the past I was total apple iphone only upto the 6 I would replace both my handset's every year with question until they released the 6 so thin it looked liked the camera was superglued on the back such a bad handset (hopefully the new one will be better) I always buy my phones second hand to save on money, in the past I have purchased an iphone that got network blocked, I took the handset back to apple who told me the phone was blacklisted in the UK but not to worry and promptly replaced the phone with another without any questions what so ever so a few days ago my wife's Samsung S7 edge came up with emergency calls only spoke to samsung live help (which were of no help at all) took the phone down to stoke (100 miles round trip) Samsung took the phone in and told me give us an hour to check it out, got a text telling me the phone is all sorted now, went to collect the phone to see the same fault, the advisor there then checked on a free website http://www.imeipro.info/ and told me phone was blacklisted, if I have any other problems feel free to go back and see her... Apple simply replaced and keep your phone working through out the warranty period, Samsung just didn't care
  4. Winnie came to the UK in 1967 aged just 5 on her mothers passport from Malaysia. Her mother was made a British Citizen in the same year. Now at aged 53 and is recovering from cancer, Winnie who lives in Burnley is both a mother and a grandmother, and since her mother became a UK Citizen in 1967 when Winnie was aged just 5, Winnie had no idea her status was nothing less than a UK Citizen herself!! Yet, the Home Office has now deemed her as an 'illegal immigrant'. They have stopped her from working in a job she has held for many years and is threatening to DEPORT Winnie back to Malayasia - a country she has no memory of, cannot speak the language and has no family there. Having prevented her from working, despite the fact Winnie has been a UK taxpayer for over 35 years, has a National Insurance number, a UK drivers licence and has a mortgage and pays council tax - and to add to her distress, she's has been denied ANY support or benefits - because she is being prevented from working! 6. Story here http://johnnyvoid.wordpress.com/author/johnnyvoid/ this is not just about people mandated on to the WP, this legislation has implications for all of us. If the government can break the law then retrospectively change the law what stops them applying this to anything else? There is no point now taking the government to court over anything, they could simply reverse court judgments by 'going back in time' and changing the rules, we are heading for a dictatorship, and there is no party with the guts to do anything about it.
