  1. Hi i had a debt with 3 g for £111.14 about 8 years ago. i hadnt really heard anything further and at the time 8 years ago i had lost my job and was in a pickle in everything. my current credit history after much hard hard work is completely clear and i have been doing everything to increase my credit score as i would like to buy a house. However, upon leaving for work this morning, good old postman delivers a letter that has left me panicked and worried all day. it was from provident personal credit and says the following;- "we are writing to you in connection with the above debt. Please be advised that we have taken the decision not to pursue this debt any further. We can confirm this mean we will take no further action against you in relation to the outstanding balance and also that we will not take any steps to sell it on to any third party. Because we have reported information about your debt to a credit reference agency, we can confirm that any records will be updated to show that this debt has been partially satisfied. this means that no further action is required to be undertaken by you and that no further action will be taken by us. Other lenders may look at your credit reference file when deciding to lend to you. you do no need to reply to this letter r take any further action but may cal if you have any concerns or questions" up till now my credit file is completly clean. im really worried that this has messed it up now as it was never on there before and it is clear as we speak. this is such an old debt how ca this be allowed to now be on my credit file? i have also not had any contact with them. been worrying all day. anyone please?
