  1. Hi this is my first post, so I hope this is of use to someone like me. I had contact from Motormile Finance UK Limited (MMF) first in June of this year, advising me of a debt (which I never took out) with Mr Lender otherwise known as PDL Finance Limited. The debt I have learned was taken out in November of 2012, this i discovered from my Callcredit credit report which I applied for after discovering this information. MMF have stated that "..further to the communication from Mr Lender..." I have yet to receive any communication from Mr Lender in relation to this loan to my home address, they appear to have just paid a loan to some fraudster, not confirmed by post anything and sold the debt to MMF some months later. What is worse is that after a couple of months communications by post and email (which they do not seem to acknowledge or respond to) I have to print out the email and post it to them (MMF). This week I received a very short letter from MMF after I made an official complaint, advising me that the debt IS NOT FRAUD, and that collections activity will resume. This made my blood boil and me feel quite sick to say the least. I do not have an account number (yet) from Mr Lender, which I have this week requested, as I am therefore referring this complaint to the Financial Services Ombudsman and they require an account number, I only have the MMF Reference Number. The FSO told me that MMF will have to give the debt back to Mr Lender/PDL Finance Ltd and they will investigate and make an adjudication. I also have taken out CIFAS Registration to try and prevent fraud happening again.
  2. Hi I'm not sure if I am posting in the wrong area so I'm very sorry if I have! I applied for a payday loan last night with Peachy loans. I was declined (I'm actually glad of this now) but as the page was loading it advised if I was declined it would send my info to another loan company. It didn't give me the option to stop that happening. it redirected me to Mr Lender website but I didn't want a loan from them so just closed the page. Within 10 minutes I had 3 emails and 2/3 texts from Mr Lender saying please come back and sign a credit agreement so we can get things started. I deleted them and didn't click the links. During the peachy loans application I had given my employer details which I assumed were just incase I got accepted and defaulted and they could chase payment with me there but today at work Mr Lender called me at work to ask if I wanted a loan still!! I am furious!! Surely they can't be ringing me at work to offer me loans? I work in a small office and one of colleagues called over to say a finance company were on the phone for me so everyone probably thinks I've got someone chasing me for debt!! I am so embarrassed and all the calls at my work are recorded! I told them to never call me again and hung up. When I finished work I called them and demanded to speak to a manager but they refused to put me on with anyone and I ended up hanging up on them. Who can I complain to about this? Surely they are not allowed to harass me to take out a loan with them?! Thanks in advance Charlene
  3. Hi All, I'm a newbie to this forum in that I don't think I have posted anything before, although I have found the advice on here pretty useful in the past - so thank you. I have multiple payday loans and I am successfully clearing most of them in the next couple of months. I have been doing this by effectively only paying them what I can afford and getting them to stop applying additional interest. This is working / has already worked for three of these companies but I have a real problem with one of them who goes by the name of Mr Lender - they are part of PDL Finance. I was due to pay them either £100 in order to rollover the loan or £500 to repay the loan in full (£400 being the original loan amount)on 20th October. My intention was to pay them slightly more than just the interest charges but not the whole amount. Unfortunately, one of the other creditors took out more money from my account than I was expecting (my own fault - I had misread that creditor's correspondence) and so when Mr Lender tried to take the money from my account the payment failed. On the day the payment failed I had numerous telephone messages from Mr Lender, a couple of emails and numerous text messages. I didn't want to speak with them until I could see where the other payments had gone, and my online bank statement was not up to date as some of the other payments had gone out via debit card. On the day after the due date, they repeatedly phoned my work, my mobile and home phone. Getting my voicemail each time, they then started calling random extension numbers at my work, until they eventually got through to my boss who called me to her extension to take the call - this was extremely embarrassing - especially as the two or three people that informed me at work that these guys had spoken to them all said that the people they spoke to were incredibly rude. I spoke to Mr Lender and said I would write to them to suggest a payment plan in the next two days or so - their rep said that this was not acceptable and that I have to deal with them over the phone - she said she would put me through to someone who could help me . . . . when I spoke with the next representative, he started by saying that he would help in anyway possible; I said that I would pay on or before 19th November (i.e. 30 days after the original due date) in full - in other words the full £500. He said that I had to make a proper payment immediately and that this offer was not acceptable as, as he put it, "we are not a charity". He said if I didn't pay I would incur charges of at least £175 before 19th Nov. I said I thought that that was excessive and unfair, but that could he please put their position in writing. His response was that he would email me, and I said I wanted a letter, to which he said that they don't do that. I should add that whilst their Ts&Cs make some mention of charges for late payment they definitely do not equate to £175 in a month! I asked this representative repeatedly to put their position to me in a letter, and he kept saying that they would not do so. So I wrote to them stating my position, that I would happily pay a maximum of £512 (£12 being what I would perceive as being reasonable admin charges for the late payment), on 19th Nov. They stopped calling me last week, but I have not received a written response from them yet. However, the next thing I know is that I get a text message saying they are sending me a default sums in accordance with the consumer credit act 1974. I then got an email (not a letter) stating that in accordance with the CCA 1974 I owe them £570 - no OFT fact sheet was included, not even as a PDF. So, sorry about the very lengthy post - but can anyone tell me: a) Do I have a right to insist that they state their position and all correspondence in hardcopy form? b) Are they allowed to call my work and guess at extension numbers - as there is no way they would have spoken to my colleagues in other departments otherwise! c) Can they serve a default sums notice by email? d) Should they not take a commercial view as I've used their service for months, and a cost of at least £100/month - if they add all these charges, then they loose the business e) If I pay them the £512, can they actually chase for any additional sums that they think they can? f) Am I missing anything - is there anything else I should be doing in terms of my dealings with them? Thanks all for your help, and again sorry its such a lengthy post
  4. Hi Guys, I know i've been stupid but I started this mess when I started my new job after losing my previous one and continued to roll them over. Just so you are aware I have no family (i'm 25) and my friends cannot loan me money so it is truly me against the world. What I need help with is I have e-mailed Uncle Buck since the 21st Feb (the day my rollover was collected to let them know that I required a repayment plan. They stated they can only offer in exceptional circumstances for example a bereavement or loss of job, I thought I would try my luck and state that I had lot my job. They stated they required proof but I did not want to make something up as I was worried his could make things worse so I have been back and forth trying to convince them to allow me to pay in installments (25 emails in 3 weeks!!!) until a few days ago, I have now forwarded them a new template so hopefully that will work. My current predicament is:- Liquid Advance - 459 Uncle Buck - 325 txtloan - 320 247 moneybox - 251.32 early payday loan - 240 mr lender - 260 1 month loan - 325 cash genie - 260 payday uk - 312 payday express - 500 Wonga - 775 I must admit I originally sent the same email to all of them and after a bit of back and forth managed to convince 9/10 to repayment plans. EPDL want interest of £60 included in there payment plan and mr lender require £60 also, but as they have agreed to the plan I am happy with that, what I am not happy with is UNCLE F*CK not allowing me enter a repayment arrangement. I do not know what to do and if someone would like me to forward all correspondence I can. Also, I have copied both financial ombudsman and oft into the e-mails but they do not seem to care (Uncle Buck). They were also the final loan I took out. Also I have a wonga loan......although there thieves I must admit they are easy to come to a payment arrangement with also and I will begin to start paying this in April.... So this is my predicament, it feels good to share and having looked through this forum for quite a while now I believe it truly is the best so thanks in advance for all the feedback. Thanks :@)
