  1. Hello. In late 2017 I was given a ccj from a short term/ payday loan company. I rolled over the loan once and it stood at just over 600, its now at 750 as a ccj When I got the loan I was quite unwell, unable to afford it and suffering from Paranoid schizophrenia, andxiety and depression, unable to work due to my illness. Just before the CCJ was in court I was unable to go to court as I was under section in hospital receiving treatment for a severe attack, I could not of known I had received a court date or have went to it to challenge it, I did however get someone later after I had visited home and found out about it to call up and explain. As I recall they said they couldn't do anything. I am just wondering if there is a way to challenge this?, as I am doing much better now and would like some credit to get my life back on track, but with a ccj this is very difficult. Thanks in advance
  2. Myself and my wife moved into a 55 age group housing association flat around four years ago. It's been bliss for the four years, now the housing association has moved in a new tenant above us, he's a 58 year old Heavy Metal fanatic, our worst nightmare! As expected the noise has started to get worse, especially since the tenant purchased a boom box and a sound bar sound system, the noise isn't particularly loud but there is a constant boom boom noise which gets to you after a while. We went to see the tenant and asked him very nicely if he could turn the volume down because the noise is booming in our living room. The person got very angry and said that the housing association informed him that he could play his music whenever he wants and at what volume he wants. The housing officer is calling to see both of us tomorrow, but I dont hold my hopes up because this tenant is so selfish and inconsiderate. What makes matters worse is that my wife suffers with high blood pressure and has had a few strokes, she's been crying for the last two days because of the fear that our home has been ruined by the selfish actions of this tenant. If in the event that the housing association fails to do anything would they be responsible for arranging a transfer for us under the duty of care? I know this is a drastic way to resolve the problem, but I can see nothing but trouble by staying at this tenancy.
  3. Hi All, would really appreciate some advice on the following that happened about three weeks ago now. I reversed my car into the entrance of a car park to a block of flats (during the day on a cloudy/rainy day), I could see the low level wall (about a foot high), but I did not see the rusty coloured metal room support joist beam that had been upended and placed at the end of the wall. There are no reflectors on it, it is not painted a bright colour, it is there to stop people hitting the wall - which it does very well indeed. However, it left a big hole in my bumper, and my car is currently being repaired at a cost of over £300 (using a second hand bumper). I believe this is an illegal piece of street furniture that runs next to a public footpath and road, and would like to make a claim against the land owners. I would also like it to be removed, as I fear that if someone tripped and fell onto this and hit their head, it could possibly cause life changing injuries or even death. I am not going through my insurance company as this will increase my premiums (which is who the land owners have told me to go through). am I now left with what do I do now? Even if I do not get a penny, I would hate to think of someone falling on to it and would like to know if the Highways Agency could help me. Many thanks - Sarah
