  1. Hi, around a month ago, I was caught swapping over a pair of jeans in the changing rooms. . stupid thing to do I know. The police were called and they gave me a 'caution', I signed a piece of paper to say I will pay the RLP 'fine' even though the police man didn't have a clue what it was, signed to say I'm banned from primark and to apologise. I've looked online and realised it wasn't an formal caution as I would of have to of been taken to the police station for this. (Sorry have no clue about these things) but that wasn't explained to me. Before I left, I changed out of the jeans and gave them back to the security guard but had been wearing them for a couple of hours whilst all this happened. I've read quite a lot of things about RLP on this forum and other websites and read that the letters should be ignored, what I'm wandering in my case is, the jeans probably wouldn't of been put back on sale as they had been worn? And the tags off? I'm not sure if this makes a difference, the jeans were £10 so do I owe them just £10? Haven't yet received a letter but im waiting on it to come! Also i signed a letter by the police starting I would pay it. Sorry if I sound stupid, I really had no idea! Thank you guys!
  2. I am extremely ashamed of my actions but on 23rd August 2014 I was caught stealing from Primark (Goods worth around £59). I am 21 years of age. I have never stolen anything and have never been in any trouble with the law. Yesterday I received a letter from RLP and they have asked for ‘A fixed contrition to all the losses is therefore sought in the sum of £130’. The £130 will apparently settle the claim and I have 21 days to pay. I think it is worth explaining the details of the incident: Once I walked out with the goods, a security guard stopped me and asked me to walk with him to the detention rooms downstairs. On arrival another man asked me if I had stolen the items and out of fear and regret; I told the truth about everything. Things got progressively worse. The man asked me about my ethnic background and I told him and he called a third security man into the room saying he was from the same country as me and said ‘Here’s one of your cousins’ to the man. Later another comment ‘Teach your wife a lesson’. This security man was then sent to calculate the cost of the goods. As I had other shopping with me (Matalan and Poundshop) the receipt of these goods were also looked at which was all fine. My Matalan shopping included baby clothes and Poundland shopping had baby wipes which were for my niece who was staying over at my house and the security man said to me ‘your child would be ashamed’. The security guard also had me empty the contents of my handbag which included a novel I was reading and another sarcastic remark was made ‘so beauty and brains, but you still want to steal’. A female security member (of European background) was also present who was taking my details from my provisional license and she made a comment ‘If this happened to me in your country, my hands would have been chopped off’ I am not even from the middle east so making such a remark was uncalled for. On my arrival at the detention room, there was already a girl there who only had one security member in the room with her. My point is that at one time there were probably at least 4-5 security members in the room. My letter from RLP states that I am covering the losses of Primark’s business and their security loss. Security clearly had no reason to have that many people in a small room and all they were doing is bullying, patronising, intimidating and making racial remarks at me! My questions are: Should I be paying RLP the outstand settlement of £130? (I have read many threads saying to not pay RLP a penny but I am very confused as my number one priority is to get them off my back and never have to deal with this again). If I do pay the £130, will RLP be seeking more money from me? (the letter is titles ‘Letter before claim’ so I am wondering if this will follow with another letter asking for more money). If I don’t pay, will debt collectors harass me? Will my credit history or rating be affected? Could I be summoned to court or go to jail? Do you think a visit to Citizens Advice would help? I am extremely stressed out and feel as though this is affecting my everyday life. Please help with any advice and anything I can do moving forward. The experience has left me humiliated and distressed. I would be happy to send a photo of the letter I was sent from RLP to make clearer the settlement issue. I feel like I do not fully understand it. Thanks.
  3. Hi people I need help . I have TV from bayv and been with them for over three year payed off other items ( only ever missed few payment right at beginning through misunderstanding but sorted years ago ). Due to tax credit cut we had to make list of who get payed so we pay ele gas TV licence rent council tax all at reduced rate and the rest of debt had to but on hold until we got sorted . Well this week since 9am Monday we have had bayv rep at our door 2-3 times aday demanding money (£12) I told him from start what had happened but he just said so we want paying and I will come until you pay . I asked not to he keeps coming at 9 am and 3 pm just as school at just over road is opening and closing shouting we own £12 ( very embarrassing ) . Well yesterday he came again 9 am told him to please leave us alone and that he is now staring to course us a lot of stress he said so I want money now I just closed door . He cam back at 3 pm this time more threatening my wife was in bed as she work late nights I asked him to please stop calling he said no I asked him to leave my property he said no I said if not i will remove him and if needed with reasonable force . He replayed I call the police at that my wife shouted out bedroom window to move and get in car . He the phoned someone and said me and my wife threatened to assault him ( not true total lie ) with in 5 min a seconded rep turned up and parked right across my parking bays (remember at his time lots of people about picking kids up ) there stood like mafia out said my door so I phone the police there said someone will come as his is not rite . As I put phone down police came so guess he phone too . I went out and said to officer I will talk to him and him only at this he said get in side in a very horrible tone . Five minutes later the officer just walk into my house with out invite I have very small dog that love to play and like to be fussed the dog jumped at officer and he started shouting at my little dog and push her away and made a kicking motion I told him this is my house and is her home too and not to treat her like that he said he get dog section to take her away . My daughter who's dog it is started to cry . So we could sort this we put dog in garden at his the officer said HE was taking my TV if we didn't pay the £12 now I said we don't have it he said well am taking TV I said he as no right to do that he said I do as I have this uniform on and can do what I like and if I want can use force and arrest me I said he can not and asked what law as been broken and what law was he using he said he dose not need any . At this my got very upset and got £11.40 ( my daughter dinner money and bus fare for next two day for school ) at this the officer went out side and said if we don't pay he getting back up and if needed will force entry . I asked him what law was he using again no reply I asked this many many time with no reply . My wife came out in bits and give rep £11.40 the rep said its £ 12 or nothing at this I took money back . The officer said right am taking TV I said no you not . The bayv rep said he can take TV as we have payed less then a year on it . I said no way it's over two year he went on his little computer and said opps you RIGHT at this there change tack very quick . The officer jump in van with rep and talked aw by way officer refused his name and kept moving his shoulders so could not get number properly . While all this his going on in street all the neighbours came out very imbarassing . I went inside my wife asked what was the officer going to do he just laughed at her blow her kisses wink and drove off laughing . The rep move up the road and stayed there for around 15 min . This as to stop I now have no conferdance in Cleveland police and will never ever again let them in my house not that I let them in this time . We are now very upset stressed and my daughter would not go out last night scared that her dog was going to be took away ( more worried them if I was getting took away lol ) . Please can anyone help me with what I can do about this and if police can act in this way . Many thank people foza11.
  4. Hi i was working for a company in the public sector , one of the things in my defense is the basic fact that they was in breach of contract because .... The manager forced me into taking a break at the end of the duty which i am claiming effected my performance According to ACAS It's extremely important that workers take breaks. Studies have shown that heavy workloads and stress can make workers less productive, increase the risk of mistakes, and affect health. and should have their break at some point during the middle of there shift rather than adding the break to the end or beginning of work. In the CWU agreement contract it states breaks must not be taken at the end of the duty. I have it in writing in the interview notes when i pointed out that i was stressed because i had had no break " we have spoken about this before , U MUST TAKE YOUR BREAK AT THE END." ( which was just to suite manager so he can can close doors early and get away earlier while im on my "break" as im walking home) The company s CWU has a binding agreement which means it is contract ... contract of employment explicitly mentions the inclusion of collective agreements with the cwu. This means that all valid collective agreements are express contractual terms.Breaching those terms is a breach of contract. Its gone straight to FINAL HEARING .. i dont know if that is the final thing skipping any kind of pre hearing or whatever? Anyway would you guys say this is breach of contract or what. sorry if this makes no sense
