Hi, I'm currently in court with a Claimant who is basically trying to ambush me. The court has requested information from them on multiple occasions and they have provided the bare minimum at the death. This is a civil case relating to a CCA. I now have enough information to identify the account and I'm required to submit an amended defence. I have documents that help my case that the Claimant should have provided but hasn't they are mentioned in their POC. I know sometimes judges take the Claimants side from the start, and should I include them in my defence. The Claimant is trying to supply as little as possible like sending 8 copies of CCA's that bear to relationship to the claim at all. Should I say as the Claimant has provided minimum information I was able to find documents and refer to them in my Defence. These are Statutory notices. Sorry to be vague but I dont want to give too much away. Thanks

I moved into a housing association property around three years ago. I received a letter from the housing association today stating that they now intend to introduce a service charge for the TV aerial maintenance costs and the door entry intercom maintenance cost. The reason why these new costs are being introduced from the 1st April is that when the tenancy agreement was signed the housing association did not apply the correct charges for provision and maintenance, however they will not be seeking the recovery of previous costs. Surely because a contract had been signed it cannot be changed?

The BBC plan to screen a "Hunger Games" style game show will make unemployed people and low-paid workers compete in a series of challenges and tasks in competition for a cash prize. Only the UK’s lowest-paid workers and the unemployed will be invited to compete. At the end of each episode, those who have produced the least will be eliminated and by the end of the process, just one worker will remain. The winner will receive in the region of £15,000 which is estimated to be a year’s living wage, outside of London. This is the next rung down the ladder in the disturbing trend of voyeuristic "poverty porn" made popular in programmes like 'Benefits Street'. Unemployment and poverty are serious social issues and should not be the subject of a cheap game show format, designed to exploit some of the most impoverished in our society for the purposes of dubious "entertainment". Not even the cheapest and tackiest of the cable or satellite channels have stooped to this level. This poverty porn is getting out of control imo.
