My mum and I took a mortgage out with Hadenglen Plc in late 2004.
We were told that we had to have something called "Accident, Sickness & Unemployment Protection Insurance" added to it.
As we had not had a mortgage before we were unaware that we should have been offered the option to pay monthly.
We were under the impression that it was just one of those things - a necessity in order to process the mortgage.
A premium of £1221.91 plus £61.09 insurance premium tax (£1283.00 total) was added to our mortgage breakdown.
The ASU was in my mums name, as I was a student at the time, but as it was added to the mortgage amount I have also paid this back. The ASU was over 5 years, but I remortgaged with another company in 2008, so we didn't even get the full 5 years we had paid for.
I have sent a letter to Hadenglen but received no reply and after looking into this further I see that they have gone into administration.
Could anyone advise me of how to go about putting a complaint in about them?*
