  1. I bought an item from Etsy about a month ago and since I have been going back and forth with the seller because it never showed up. They showed me a proof of postage with my postcode that they had generated from the post office (no tracking) and this sufficed for them to win the non delivery case. The seller and Etsy are telling me it is my responsibility since they can show they shipped it. I am new to Etsy but this is a stark contrast to eBay who hold the seller responsible until they can show proof of delivery. I do not know what to do but file a chargeback which I am feeling isn't worth the hassle for £25 but I am furious! They didn't even try to help or contact Royal Mail or file a lost item case at all. I have asked at the delivery office and nothing is being held for me there or misdelivered to neighbours. Non-delivery can only occur when a seller receives payment and fails to ship the buyer's order. It seems that this purchase has, in fact, been shipped by the seller. If the shipment hasn't been received, it may have been lost or delayed in the mail. We realize this type of situation can be difficult for all parties involved. However, Etsy is unable to hold a seller responsible for shipping delays or errors, as long as the seller is able to prove that they shipped the order. As the seller has provided sufficient proof of shipment, we must close this case. Although the case is closed, you're welcome to work together to resolve this transaction outside of the case system. We recommend that you contact the shipping service for assistance with locating the package.
  2. Hi, I don't know if this is the right place for this but I've googled about and I just can't think what to do about this situation. I ordered something from Etsy and waited about 2 weeks for it to come (the items are all handmade so I expected it to take longer than usual). I contacted the seller who told me that there was a delivery attempt made but as no one was in they had left a card for me to arrange a redelivery. I didn't have a card or anything left so I was a bit confused there and told the seller this. She gave me the tracking details and when I checked these, it said that a redelivery attempt had been made and that someone had accepted and signed for my parcel with a signature that wasn't even close to mine (completely different first initial and surname). I asked my neighbours who had not accepted any parcels. I rang Royal Mail who asked me to confirm my address and postcode and they told me that the parcel had been sent to a different address but they couldn't tell me which one for data protection and told me that I should contact the seller to confirm the address they used. They gave me the address given to them by Etsy which was my name and street and postcode but with one number different in the house number (a 1 instead of a 7). I've been to the house where my parcels have been sent but no one has answered despite it being very obvious someone is home and I've left a note telling them of the situation and of my contact number so they can ring me if it's possible for me to go and collect it and if they don't feel comfortable with that, asking if they could return it to the post office so that the parcel would just get sent back to the seller who could then send it back to me. I've heard nothing from them at all. I'm really not sure what to do here as I have never entered my address incorrectly on Etsy and I've checked so many times and it definitely says the right number and I've had other parcels arrive to me from there but the seller has told me that she used the address given to her by Etsy and has sent me a screenshot of this to prove it and I honestly don't think she's lying about this. So if it's not my fault that this has been sent to the wrong address or the seller's but the person refuses to give me my parcel, is there anything at all I can do or am I just out of pocket now? Sorry for the mini essay, hope someone can help!
