  1. Are they kidding me? Any advice would be really appreciated. I had a payday loan with this lot a few years back. They never made any checks on me, and lent it totally irresponsibly . I ended up on benefits, and agreed a payment plan with them. They then on the day my benefits were paid, they took the entire amount from me, leaving me with nothing to live on for a month, including disgusting amounts of charges. I was in tears, literally begging them/my bank lloyds for help, they told me tough luck we can do what we like (Literally said this) and the bank told me we wont help. I ended up scrounging and getting into more debt over it. I have just seen that they have to repay people they did over, and I emailed them to ensure I am included. Just got this back: 'Good Afternoon, Thank you for your email. Unfortunately, you are not due redress following a review of your account. Cash Genie has been working with its regulator (the FCA), and an independent skilled person to ensure all customers who were affected by past business practices receive redress. Cash Genie is contacting all customers who were affected. The redress has been verified and you were not affected by those business practices, although we appreciate your disappointment. Kind Regards Customer Support' Is there anything I can do? These guys still give me massive anger, I wish I could meet their CEO face to face for how I was treated
  2. I have woken up today feeling awful, no energy at all, sore throat, achy and just feeling terrible, can hardly walk around the house. The thing is i'm due to go to a Work Programme appointment on Tuesday and a job fair Thursday and i'm worried because if i'm not better for those things then I won't be able to attend and I'm worried because I know the Work Programme has a habit of sanctioning people, I have only ever been sanctioned once (unfairly) and I won that appeal so technically never had a sanction. Need some advice on this, thank you.
  3. Hi, I sold my house(mortgage) a month ago to my son at the market value and settled some of my loans but still have about 25000 pounds loan(recent loans during the last 2 and half years) .I lost my job last year, following a motor accident, was on job seekers allowance, no other income, no assets, now in overseas to live with my mother for some time. Am I eligible to go for bankruptcy? Looking forward to your advice. Regards
  4. Back in 2004 I thought things were getting a bit tight and I'd not long started a new job, I remortgaged to help finance paying off some loans. But at the time got talked into PPI and I thought it was a good idea to protect my repayments. But, the new job saw me join a company as a Director and so was self employed taking a moderate wage and annual dividends. So being self employed does that immediately exclude me from eligibility for PPI? I also find we're still paying it! :o So I've cancelled it as I now work in local Gov't where sickness would be paid for about the period PPI would cover and a change of circumstances would require a pretty decent notice period.
  5. Hi everyone, I am urgently looking for help/advice about whether or not I am eligible for a grant. I am currently on contribution based ESA and living in an emergency housing hostel and have been for the past month. Previously, I have been sofa surfing since January due to splitting with my partner. I have managed to find a property, the cost of which is Local Housing Allowance + £10 per week from my benefit. The problem is that because the place is unfurnished I have no money to buy bed, cooker, decorating, etc. I plan to have my 2 year old son at weekends but obviously can't if I am unable to furnish and decorate the place. I called into the local job centre and was told I wasn't eligible for any help because I am not on income related benefit. Any help/advice greatly appreciated. Thanks.
