  1. hi, ive just recently looked at my credit report and in the last two weeks ive had 2 ccj's added to my credit report. one is from lowell and the other is from lantern drs which i assume is now what mmf used to be. both were issued at my old address and i knew nothing of the matters going this far. the lowell one is for an old shop direct account and the other is an old loan from 2013 which can only of been a payday loan. my question is what should my next move be im a carer for my disabled son so i dont work and claim income support. any advise would be great help. many thanks
  2. Don't really know where to start here, but about 3 years ago I quit drinking, I wasn't a full blown alcoholic but I'll admit I wasn't far off I'd binge drink a lot 3/4 times a week it helped me feel better. Any way I quit lost weight fought to make myself better and was going great, now I'm still not great at mixing with people so I thought well maybe driving a lorry would be a good option as I would be on my own a lot of the time. So I went to the Dr to see what he thought and he was fine with it, he left the room briefly and I looked at his computer screen and noticed he put down I was still binge drinking I quizzed him about it and and told him straight I'd stopped binge drinking three years ago. He said he couldn't change it but would note I'd stopped drinking fair enough I thought. So I called the DVLA to ask if my past drinking would be a problem they sent out a questionnaire and the next thing I know they took my car licence off me! Said because it was clear id had a drinking problem in the last 12 months. So I went back to the Dr and he pointed out the other Dr had wrote ''informed me he Stopped drinking October 2014' on my medical records and that Perhaps the DVLA had assumed up until October 2014 I was still drinking. So he asked me to take a blood test to check my gamma GT I did and it came back normal so I thought that'll be it, I said to the Dr now you just need to clear up the mistake and they'll give me my licence back, he said no they have their own rules so I'll just send them your updated blood results. And here I am stuck waiting and the Dr and DVLA refuse to acknowledge there's been a mistake. I can't afford court action what can I do?
  3. Hi there I have a big issue with Vodafone for which I am trying to sort out. I have had a contract with Vodafone which I then upgraded in November 2012. After a couple of months of paying fine I experienced some financial difficulties and contacted Vodafone to help. They simply removed my service, and put me on an unaffordable payment plan, and by removing my service I was forced to get a new phone and the costs involved with that. Since then Vodafone have been appauling in coming to a affordable solution (had they allowed me to use the phone whilst on the payment plan it would have been fine), and they have been racking up these monthly costs for the past 16 months without giving me any service. They now cancelled it, and charged me another £700 on top of that (even though they obviously weren’t going to provide me with any services). Back in March I agreed a plan with them to clear off the full balance (without the cancellation fee) in 3 payments over 7 weeks. It was agreed they would call me and I would pay the cost with my card over the phone, and I was very specific they were to call me. However they never did on the agreed date so 3 days later I rang them and they told me it was cancelled. Now they have handed my account over to some company called DRS. DRS called me and made various demands, followed by threats about how if I don’t pay, my life will become difficult and people will be turning up at my doorstep and all these other threats. This is very stressful to obviously hear, and is very traumatic. I explained the situation and the history but they don’t listen, I told them to go back to their client (Vodafone) with my queries but they point blank refuse (which as they haven’t brought the debt seems very odd), and all they do is continue to threat. For obvious reasons I will not deal with this company, they are way out of line, and I am considering action against them. However for Vodafone, I acknowledge I do owe them money, and I want to get this sorted, however I tried phoning through to them today and couldn’t get through as i was told to deal with this DRS lot – which obviously I will not do as they just threaten and harass. I am posting here first to see if I can get anywhere before getting advice on the other forums, and then I guess contacting the OFT (or whoever I need to read up more on that) for help. I don’t see why this is such a tough issue to sort out. I finally got through to Vodafone collections yesterday who said I had to speak to DRS. I said I legally don’t need to, and that I would only deal with them. I was supposed to be received a call back from Vodafone yesterday afternoon, surprise surprise this didn’t materialise. If Vodafone won’t talk to me to resolve this, and DRS are just trying to threaten me I don’t know what to do, so any advice would be greatly appreciated.
  4. Hi im a young male, and has recieved a letter from mini credit saying i took out £80 loan which now has turned into over £1,000 (which i didnt and have no knowledge of this) so went police station and was told to ignore it, which i did, then got a letter saying about people coming my house to collect my money, i told them if they come there causing trouble and the police told me they aint got the right, so i ignored them again but i replied to all there letters and even phoned and they were really rude, and recently got a final notice letter saying: FINAL NOTICE OF INTENT "We have been advised by Opos Limited that you have refused to make payment or agree a suitable repayment plan on your account despite them being unaware of any reason you may have for avoiding this matter. We are therefore left with no alternative but to consider your account for recovery of the outstanding balance through your local County/Sheriff Court. Court fees and Solicitors costs will be added to the balance for which you are liable, plus statutory interest, which will accrue at a rate of 8% P.A above base whereby the following action will be considered upon receipt of judgement/decree:- Arrestment/attachment of your earning at your place of employment securing monies owed via an inhibition charge order against your property We trust that you will now give this matter full attention and remit to ourselves the full balance outstanding within 7 days receipt. Unfortunately should you choose to ignore this document then proceedings, if instigated, will be done so without further notice. We recommend that you take this opportunity to resolve this issue Should you wish to discuss this matter further you must contact within 7days receipt on .................... this is really causing me so much stress, but im reading online many people with this problem, and was told to ignore this letter, is that right to do ?
  5. Several years ago I was taken to court over non-payment of rent, as well as some other charges which were concocted and added to the case. Trying to defend myself as best I could, I proved able to show I had paid the rent amounts in question, I was however unable to provide proof of the concocted additions to the bill. (It is not the case in a civil court that an individual is innocent until proven guilty, it seems more like whether on balance guilt is probable. I'm not a solicitor and failed to defend myself in some regards.) So I ended up with a CCJ, just for the concocted additions, for which I'm making payments, every month. I am not disputing the CCJ, although I'm bitter about how the court case was handled, I have been paying the bill every month on time. In a couple of months the court amount will be paid off. But here's the problem. Three days before the court hearing, I received a letter (hand delivered) through my door, referring to bailiffs, and stating that I owed £1000 (one thousand pounds UK sterling) for their attendance at my property. I did not speak to anyone in person, and disregarded the letter, throwing it away. I have spoken to DRS regarding my account. The balance of the account not only includes the CCJ, but the £1000 charge. Given that I've repaid almost £2500 in concocted charges, I'm in no hurry to donate another £1k to DRS' cause. I can easily see how, if I simply stop paying when the CCJ amount is satisfied, DRS would drag up another court case, adding another bunch of concocted nonsense, and that my credit rating will be decimated for another five years. Perhaps it alreday has been, permanently. How is it possible to ever end this? Will there just be another letter in a couple of months detailing how I now owe £10, or £20, or £1 million? Can I lend my neighbour a lawnmower and post a letter through their door claiming £1000 now? Is that how it works? If any legal staff are reading this, I would quite happily discuss the matter with them. I want no contact or dealings with DRS. Thank you for your time. I've decided to publish the address of DRS as the company name is ambiguous and do not want to sully the names of any other agencies. 6. Hi, I had a policy with Admiral at the beggining of last year. I was with them for a couple of months when someone crashed into my parked car. My car was only worth £200 so it was an instant write off. The person who crashed into said they would pay me what the car is worth. I called Admiral and told them what had happened. I explained it was undrivable and it was a write off so I would not be needing the insurance anymore. They said as I was cancelling early I would need to pay one months payment which was £80 and then the policy would be cancelled. After the next months payment was taken from my back account I cancelled the direct debit and didnt hear anything from the again (This was May 2010) I purchased a brand new car in May 2010 and I have been driving this since. In June this year I started receiving texts, letters and calls from a company called DRS. They said I owe Admiral £70 and they had been told to collect it. I explained the situation to them and they said sorry and didn't call again. In July this year the called again and asked for the money. I told them I am not paying as I don't own anything to them. They have continued to call me every day for over a month, text and write to me. They have even said they will be coming to my door between 1st August - 1st September between 8-8!!! At the beginning of August a company called scottcall starting calling, texting and writing to me saying they have the debt of £75 and to ingore DRS and give them the money. I have called Admiral today and they have said that I did not call last year to cancel my policy!! I know I did and my partner was also there at the time of the phone call. They said they can sell the debt to as many companies as they want and they call call me as many times as they want and will continue to until I pay £100 I have been told 3 different amounts to pay. I do not own anything but how can I prove it? Also I was told there is a limit to how many times you can be contacted. I feel like I am being harrassed. They call me of witheld numbers, 0845 and even mobile numbers. Any help with this would be great
