  1. hi, i have had an M&S card with outstanding balance since I stopped paying back about 6 years and I have been unable to pay it back due to ongoing financial difficulties. I ahve been contacted by DCAs one after the other and lately a company called Credit Security has been on my nerves with threatning letters/calls. Due to this debt, I have got bad credit rating for a while now. I had once sent a CCA request to M&S and they sent me the agreement. I then sent them a SAR in return to which they sent me a form to sign which I never did. I am now thinking to somehow get this debt off my shoulder but although I have work I am still struggling with my finances every month and go overdraft often. I am thinking to borrow a small amount off my family/friends and get the DCA/M&S to agree on a full and final figure to settle the debt but I do not want to speak to the DCA on phone as they sound like thugs. I need some guidance on how to approach this and how much to offer etc. my total debt on the card is £5000+. Many thanks
  2. hi, i received one of those standard issue we DEMAND you pay or we'll send someone around and take you to court letters from credit security limited, for a debt i have with a tsb credit card. i was paying it off through a debt agency, but i decided to pay directly myself as i thought the 15% cut they were taking could be better spent paying off the debt. i requested 2 times for a standing order mandate from tsb, but non were sent to me,then i had the lovely letter from credit security. i have no fear of having a visit (i.e. ignore the door!) and no issue with paying off the debt eventually, BUT after browsing the forums and reading how dodgy this company seems i was wondering if anyone out there had any advice. cheers
  3. Hi All, I have posted in various other threads about a debt with Mint for around £3000 dating back to 2007. This was originally passed to Bryan Carter who I sent a CCA request to, and was then not chased for 3 years until I received notice of assignment to Arrow Global/ Westcot earlier this year. I have not responded to them in any way since, however they now appear to have passed this to Credit Security Ltd who have sent me 2 letters threatening a doorstep visit. I have today received an offer from Credit Security offering me a 10% discount for full and final settlement. My question. I have recently come into some money which amounts to 75% of this debt and I would like to get this matter closed once and for all as this is now the only debt I have outstanding thanks to help and advise from this site. However, should I enter into negotiations with Credit Security or should I discuss with Westcot to offer around £2000 in full and final settlement? Can anyone please advise the correct way to negotiate to ensure that the debt is marked as settled on my credit report and this matter can be closed completely. Many Thanks Laura
  4. Hi everyone Received a doorstep visit from an 'agent' of Credit Security today, in respect of a disputed M&S Money agreement. M&S were CCA'd in September 2008 and failed to comply. (They sent only a copy of T's&C's). This is the culmination of long ignored correspondence from Credit Security, which has now reached the point of them threatening Court and the doorstep visit. I've now compiled the attached letter, partially using a CAG template. Any comments and observations would be much appreciated before I send on Monday 17 Jan. Letter.140111.Anon1.pdf
