  1. Hi guys, thanking you in advance. My sister is a teachers assistant working in North West London and the council is Brent so I am assuming that her main body of authority is Brent Education or something. she has been doing the same job for 10 years. Same school. First head teacher was a “cow” vicious, rude and arrogant and everyone hated her. She retired before she went she made my sisters life hell. Second head teacher is different as some how her duties means shes not 100% at the school. For 9 years my sister was Special needs Teaching Assistant. Now for last year or so is a General Teachers Assistant. Her current teacher, main teacher in the class room is making her life hell which is border line physiological torture, torment. These are not strong words these are correct descriptive words. My sister has zero evidence for any of the abuse. Sometimes even physical abuse such as being pushed or being pulled. From what other Teaching Assistants have told me, most teachers treat them like slaves and for some reason all of them are afraid to talk, take action. do they not have normal contracts like all employees in the UK with the same rights? Can they be dismissed at any given moment at the discretion of the head teacher? Following on from question 2, can they be made redundant at any given moment and being sacked or being made redundant the same? Should the Teaching Assistants be sub-servants to the Teachers or be equal in law and work as a team? I have requested my sister to note date and time of all conflicts and discuss this matter with no one until we understand her legal position and possible actions she can take. My sister needs to job for more reasons other then money. Please help and advise. Ali
  2. My daughter got a PCN issued by CCTV on pedestrian zone. I"ve tried looking into google map but there are no recent street view of the area after latest renovation project. If anyone is local to area, requesting couple of pictures of the sign post pls and thanks in advance. Probably not relevant but the pictures they've sent with PCN shows the car in main frame not belonging to her. Her car can be seen but it's far behind and on looking at brent's website, they've zoomed the VRN. There are no pictures of signs but they've zoomed on HSBC sign to indicate the location of the site. The alleged contravention was on 18th April. Looking for advice before deciding to part with money. Thanks.
  3. Hello everyone. This is my first post here. I received a PCN notice for parking in Brent Harlesden Tavistock road. This was a shared use bay, there was signs at the start of the road that has a residents or pay & display sign as well as another sign at the end of the road that had a resident permit holders only sign. I parked about 3 bays from the parking machine and signage that stated pay & display and I paid by phone with the ringo app. The parking machine has a ringo sticker on it with the location details. On approach to my car I saw a yellow sticker PCN, I checked the time and saw that I still had a valid ticket at the time I was issued the PCN. I immediately log on to Brent's PCN website and challenged the PCN I attached the pictures of my ringo ticket payment confirmation for my parking ticket which shows the time . A few weeks later I received s response from Brent stating I had parked in a permit holders resident bay and my ticket was not valid. They attached the picture of the sign at the end of the road that stated resident only. I then responded to the letter again online and attached the other signage that stated resident or pay& display, once again they responded and insisted that it was a resident only bay. As this was a shared use bay, with no double demarcation lines of anything to separate the bay, and I had a valid pay by phone ticket, I don't think I should have to pay £130 for this PCN. They have now issued a notice to owner.
  4. I received two (now three) parking tickets from Brent for briefly unloading a commercial vehicle on a single yellow line. I appealed, they wrote back to say that because my father is the legal owner of the vehicle they cannot consider my appeal. After discussing the matter with Brent, they requested hire documents showing that I was the keeper of the vehicle. I sent counter-signed hire documents by standard Royal Mail post, and heard nothing back for around a year (?). I concluded that the matter was closed. Suddenly my father has recieved correspondance from Brent, stating that court action is imminent over the parking tickets. He called them, and they claim never to have received the hire documents. They claim that it is too late to appeal or send further documents. I don't believe them, but because I didn't send recorded delivery I can't prove it. Do I have a legal basis to challenge Brent on their claim that they didn't receive my documents? Thanks
