  1. Well going off my experience there is no such thing. I was previously getting Lower Care Rate. I posted my renewal claim on */oct and got a reply through the letter box 9 days later. No doctors notes sent or surgeons appointments etc. I have now got Lower Care Rate awarded indefiinatey. They just based the decision on the info on the form I in had filled in, yet previously they contacted my GP and Surgeon for info. Just goes to show what an absolute joke this system is !!, when other people much worse off than me get turned down.
  2. Thousands of people face having their summer holidays ruined because a growing backlog at the Passport Office means they may not receive their documents in time. Some new applications are now taking as much as two months to process and there are warnings things could get even worse as the holiday season gets into full swing. The backlog has already reached half a million according to some estimates and staff from other departments have now been drafted in to help deal with the growing crisis. www.telegraph.co.uk/news/politics/10885195/Passport-backlog-threatens-summer-holiday-chaos-for-thousands.html
  3. I am almost permanently travelling around the country for work so my expenses are essential for travel /food/accommodation. As I can be away up to 6 nights a week the bill can be substantial. This was never an issue when expenses were paid weekly but now my employer has changed their expenses policy to only pay it monthly. I cannot afford to cover all these costs for a full month until we get paid. It could amount to over 50% of my wage and they are refusing to negotiate. I cannot find any specifics on this issue in employment law. Can anyone help?
