I have been offered a 2k loan with 118118 - total repayable £4653 - Obviously im not going to take it - more to the point it got me thinking, that's as high a APR as companies like Provident - I thought the max repayable now was 1 x what you borrowed, so in the case above 4k - It shouldn't be allowed.

I recently applied for credit with a loan provider. I was accepted for the requested amount and was provided a loan agreement to electronically sign, complete with terms and all the necessary information. I signed it and it was signed on behalf of the provider, which was emailed to me as a PDF. Now, the provider is requesting bank statements and ID verification, and have cancelled the original loan from my account. Is the loan provider legally obliged to continue with the agreement they originally signed or are they even capable of backing out? Thanks in advance, Michael.

Hi I have just received my latest BT telephone bill only to find that I have been billed from £21.00 for a call duration of less than 13 minutes made to the Directory Enquiries company 118118. I called requesting the telephone number for a local bank and the call to 118118 lasted no more than about a minute, however I did accept their offer to connect me (obviously a big mistake). I was at no time during this called told by the 118118 operator of the cost per minute for the connection. Is there anything I can do or anyone to complain to about these thieves. Thanks in anticipation of your replies Debbielou
