  1. I obtained a £500 loan in September 2009 with FLM quick only to discover to my horror that I have actually paid £1800!! I am not working at present and I cannot afford the monthly interest charge and I don't want to cause bad feeling between myself and the guarantor as we are family friends. Is there anything that I can do?? This company are threatening court action if the payments aren't made, any advice? £518 still owed, the mind boggles....
  2. Hello All, Looking at my credit report the other day on Experian, a CCJ appeared on there (never been there before) from 2011, for a smallish amount of £350, but it's been registered against at an address I haven't lived at for about 7 years now, and in a geographical area more than 50 miles away from me (not that it has any relevance whatsoever!)... I am actually looking to rent a house or a flat, and am wondering if it would show up on an estate agent's credit check, seeing as the address is from 7 years ago and won't be part of my application anyway, and whether I'd end up losing a £250 referencing fee... . What do those experienced people think?? Thanks in advance!
  3. Has anyone got QQ bank details for SO or online banking please? Cha Cha Cha
  4. i know you are only allowed to use JSA 28's twice in a year and my friend used 2 last year, since the new year does that mean he can use 2 more this year or does he have to wait a year after the last one he filled out ended? hope this makes sense.
  5. Hey there, just found this forum and it seems like it would be good place to ask this question. I started a new part time job a few days ago under the pretense that I would be working 18 hours, which I'm more than happy with as I was only really looking for something that would allow me to make a little extra money while I focus on a few personal projects and freelance work. I've been there for around 3 days so far, and I've already had to do an additional 14 hours worth of shifts bringing my current weekly total to somewhere around 26 hours - this is significantly more than I signed up for. I haven't been given a formal contract as of yet, I've only had to sign off on the employee handbook. I've read through the section on overtime it has a standard overtime clause that most retail jobs seem to have these days (basically saying that I may be required to work reasonable overtime to meet the demands of the business). My question however is this: would there be any way around this, as in, could I realistically turn down extra shifts in the future if asked? I applied for the job under the pretense that its was part time at 18 hours a week (as advertised), my job application specifically mentioned that I was looking for a part time position and that the 18 hours would be deal for me, and I stated several times during the interview that I was only looking for part time work but could be flexible as to what days I was available. I have no problem with helping out from time to time, but I'm quite concerned that these extra shifts I'm having to work on my first week could potentially set a precedent that I want to avoid as much as possible (not to mention the whole thing with tax brackets). Any advice would be much appreciated. This whole situation has had me so stressed out to the point that I'm wondering if the Job is even worth it at this point....
  6. A few months ago I subscribed to a website which required giving my card details. I gave them the card number, expiry date, CVV as requested, and thought nothing of it. That card then expired at the end of January, and being honest, I totally forgot about telling anyone the new card number. However, when I checked my bank statement the company were still taking money using the debit card details I had given them previously. The card number is the same, but the expiry date has altered, as has the CVV number. So how can they possibly take payments off a card that no longer exists because its out of date. Its not the fact they've taken the money, because tbh I was quite happy to carry on with the subscription anyway, its just the strange point that a company can charge a debit card on account details that no longer even exist. Is this normal ?

    Just a quick question

Having been in the support group of ESA since May 2012 I received another ESA50 in December 2013 which I posted back to Atos on 6th january this year (sent and received by Royal Mail Special Delivery) Just how long does it usually take for Atos to reply as to whether I have to have another messical. I'm only asking because I am a little stressed at the moment as I have to attend a DLA tribunal in two weeks (the last one was adjourned for me to have another Atos medical which was at my home) and I don't think I can cope with the two hanging over me. Should I just phone Atos and ask them the timescales. Hope that makes sense
  8. when I got my new car last year I had 7 years no claims according to my last insurance company , fast forward to this year and I have my renewal from my currwnt insurance and they have said I have 3 years . i had two accidents last year one in march (Other party accepted full liability ) and one in novemeber which was my fault (I slid off the road) no one else involved . subsequently they said you will loose 2 years no claims which would bring you down to 3 years ( surely that cant be right since i had 7 years at the beginning of 2013
  9. I have a virgin brand claim with the FOS, it was upheld provisionally last june, they ignored it for some months and then contested it. The FOS have had it on the waiting list ever since for another adjudication. I am now considering taking an action in the small claims. I understand that there is a premium which can be applied to a claim if there has been unreasonable behavior is this correct(without me having to look through the guidance please) and if so how much is the going rate, Many thanks
  10. Hi all, In september i got myself in a position where i applied for a loan with Quick Quid. The loan was approved but the funds never appeared in my account. When i queried this they told me i had put an extra digit into my account number online. to cut a long story short i never received the money after chasing numerous times i got fed up. Got past the rough patch with money and forgot all about it. Now they are chasing me for payment. I have spoken with a manager in resolutions department today and he confirmed that the money won't have been funded to my account but i might still be liable for it????? Is this legally correct?? i explained that all the details i gave were verified over the phone to an operator etc. i thought best to start e-mailing them regarding this. Below is what i sent them today. Walter, Just confirm the conversation we had on the 04/12/2013 at 21:00 in regard to account number xxxxxxxx 1. I explained to you from my perspective what the process had been start (Point of application) to where we currently stand. 2. You confirmed to me that there had been an error made when inputting the account number for my respective banking provider. I confirmed that this appeared to be the case however i pointed out that the process of confirming details by a Quick Quid representative had not picked this error up. 3. You confirmed that the account was being put on hold with immediate effect and that you would be tracing the funds to confirm exactly where they had gone. I have re-iterrated that they were never received by myself and am happy to provide bank statements to confirm this. 4. You advised me that i may be liable for the loan amount even though the funds had potentially not reached my account. I advised you that if this was the case i would seek legal advice as i do not beleive this is a fair and just course of action nor is it a legal course of action. 5. You confirmed to me that you would be personally handling this case and would contact me on Friday to discuss the findings of your initial investigations. 6. I advised i would be able to take a call from you on Friday evening but that i would also like correspondence via e-mail now to ensure sufficient information is available to both parties as at present only Quick Quid have a record of correspondence. To pre-advise you i will now be following every phone call with an e-mail detailing what i believe to be the main bullet points of the conversation. I would appreciate confirmation back via e-mail that this is correct and a true reflection of the conversation had. If no response is received within 48 hours of the e-mail being sent i will take this as acceptance that it is a true reflection of the conversation. I look forward to your response and will update via e-mail as and when i have further information to add to this case. Regards, Anybody have a view on this?????

  12. Heya just had to fill in my tax credits renewal form. On it it asks for earnings for last year as they have me down as working 16 hours a week for 32 weeks ( i work term time only) I worked a few extra hours over the run up to Christmas as it was busy..never more than 20 a week and only a few times so my question is will I have to pay back anything extra that I earned or is there a certain amount you are allowed to earn before it affects you? Thanks x
  13. Hi just a simple question - I have been places in support group but want to know how the decision was made i.e. how they scored me - What is the name of the form I ask for? thanks Stig
  14. Had a loan with Sainsburys Bank taken out in 2009. In April last year my then partner became unemployed i contacted Sainsburys to inform them that i wouldn't be able to fulfill by contractual payments. I arranged a payment plan to pay them 3.85 per month, this was paid by standing order. I then changed this amount to 5 each month as they where still charging interest despite me asking them to stop so the amount i owed was increasing each month. Sometime between May and September (cant be sure of dates as due to the death of my dad, unemployment and a cheating partner that part of the year is a kinda mess) i must have been contacted by Blair & Oliver scott, i dont recall them wanting to change any arrangements so continued with my SO. I contacted them in September to inquire about a settlement figure which was pretty much what i still owed to passed up the offer. Didn't hear from them again. May this year i received a letter from Arrow Global stating they had taken over the loan from Sainsburys and that until somebody from Wescot contacted me with payee details to continue to make payments in my usual way. my SO with Sainsburys is still going out each month. Not heard anything from them since. Checked my credit file with Equifax and there is a 'loan from Arrow Global (insert sainsburys account number) with a default in May 2012, no information before or after this day. Im rather confused on how a company that didnt aquire this account till May 2013 can issue a default in May 2012? There is no recorded information via Equifax in regards to my account with Sainsburys but i know that is where the information should be as have had issues with Sainsburys before and have had a note added onto my Equifax report which is still there but no account details. Would Sainsburys be able to move from Equifax to Experian etc. Also when i phoned Wescot they said i didnt owe anything i really dont be to be poking to much i just want to know about the default and if its correct or can i have it removed? Sorry for long post and thanks in advance for any advice given
  15. Had an RTA on Sunday. I will be contending that fault lies with the other party. If I go through insurance and my insurance company finds that fault lies with me do I automatically loose my NCB? Or do I only loose my NCB if I proceed with the claim after that point? Thanks!
  16. Hi all, in a panic over my finances. I took out two pay day loans due to debt I couldn't pay and I'm now on Job seeker's and realised I have made my situation a lot more worse than it was before. I borrowed £400 from both and payments are due one on the 27th of this month (quick quid) Quick quid want 450 and the other 6th October. Wonga will want 540 or thereabouts? I'm really getting worried. I understand I need to cancel the CPA but have read nightmare stories about cancelling them as banks..I bank with Barclays aren't always very helpful in regards to doing that. There is no way I can make the repayments and I guess i need to go on payment plan. I just don't know where to start?? Also do I need to close down my current account or is just sufficient to report my card stolen? I don't want the bank charging me extra on top because there isn't sufficient money in the account which is in it's over draft. I'm hoping that I can land a job in the next few weeks but it's very unlikely. I have bills to pay and I just don't know how i'm going to manage. My job seeker's is £55 per week, so it's extremely tight. The job seekers does go into a different account, still with barclays but will that make any difference?? Could they still take it anyway? I shouldn't have taken out the loan as I wasn't exactly employed well I thought I was going to be but then it didn't materialise...... I was over eager and now am suffering the consequences... I'm desperately trying to land a job to make the payment but doubt i'll be able too... Any any advice would be much appreciated. :-(
  17. I have just been reading this and while we all know of what is to come in 2014 I am a little perplexed by the last part( highlighted). This is mainly due to my having vague recollection BEAC was a long time ago discussed then subsequently scrapped....does anyone know if it has been resurrected?? "further regulations expected to be announced by the Ministry of Justice very soon, which includes a new complaints procedure, a uniform fee structure and possibly details of an industry regulator for civil enforcement, widely predicted to called BEAC or the Bailiffs and Enforcement Agents Council. "
  18. I owed some money to QQ in 2009, as usual little at first then with rollovers it kept rising. I was made redundant and could not pay back. Motormile have now obtained a CCJ against me and I need to get it to be set aside. The judgement is linked to an address I have moved from. I have no paperwork related to my debt with QQ and no paperwork from Motormile about the court action, presumably this was send to my previous address. The landlord (council) knows our new address as we informed them. What are the available reasons I can use to as court to set aside. Judgement was entered on 2nd August 2013.
  19. Hi all, Just a quick question pls...I have received a number of letters by capQ regarding a default Lloyds placed in 2011...They were getting a wee bit scary so I sent capquest a letter stating i am disputing the debt because of the amount of charges Lloyds had put on... have I unwittingly acknowledged that the debt is mine? Have I shot myself in the foot?! If I have then i'm a fool, but i did feel frightened when they said they would be writing to the solicitors and ultimately taking me to court Pls help

  22. Hi all, So I have a repayment plan with Quick Quid, which I had to default on the original repayment, in order for them to agree to the repayment plan - which is fine and affordable. They have however sent me a default letter, with their logo stamped across the envelope. I don't think this is very confidential and also quite embarrassing, as I live with family and don't want them made aware of the situation as I'm now in control. I talked to one of their reps on live chat, who stated that they have to send me one each month until my balance is paid off, is that true? I've found that when I defaulted on my credit card, once I'd come to an arrangement with them, I didn't receive any more letters. Any advice would be appreciated, Many thanks!
  23. My husbands DLA is due for renewal on the 26th September 2013. We received the forms a few weeks ago which he completed and returned. A few days ago we received a letter just informing him that his forms had been received on the 6th June and it could take 8 weeks to process and they may need to send him for a medical or pay him a visit. Today we received a letter saying that his DLA has been awarded until September 2014. The letter also says they have used the information on the form and his recent ATOS medical from the 1st March. I was expecting the usual battle but this has been processed quickly without the usual hassle. Is this usual or has the process changed recently?
  24. I apologise if this is a dumb question but it's been making me wonder for some time now and I wonder if anyone has the answer... Apologies if this has been answered elsewhere on here... So, a default lasts on your credit file for 6 years. Is that from the date the default was issued? Or does the 6 years start from the date the debt was paid in full? If I have missed 3 consecutive payments, do these class as 3 defaults for one debt or can they only default me once? I'm not planning on getting any defaults, just to be clear. Unfortunately they're already there after stupidly getting myself into debt but, even though I know it's going to take at least 6 yrs, I really want to try to clean up my report so would like to know how it works, so to speak. Thanks in advance for your replies
