  1. Hi Hubby had PIP assessment in Nov 2014. Awarded in Feb 2015 with renewal Dec 2016. Received renewal forms Dec 2015 and sent back. Text received 13th Jan to confirm receipt and now received a letter for another assessment next week. I've asked about recording but have been told I must provide my own recording equipment and must has permission from ATOS and the person doing the assessment. Does all this sound correct. The last assessment the lady came to our home but they have said he doesn't qualify this time due to recent changes.
  2. I am in charge of the company cars at work -they are all leased. Today received a Parking Eye charge notice for one of the lease cars as they contacted the lease company to find out who leased the vehicle Date of Event 02/01/2016 Date issued 27/01/16 Date received 02/02/2016 I rang the lease company to find out what day PE were advised that we had the car - it was 13th January............... Is the above timescale right ?
  3. Received by quarterly bill from the gas company. for the period of September to January the reports are advising we have used 34500kwh. We live in a 1970s Semi, average use with only a gas boiler for a gas appliance. The Gas company have asked to monitor our meter, The meter went 26/01/16 @ 09427.459m3 to 27/01/16 @ 09466.295m3. No 5 days on it is at 09505.015m3. The mind is baffled.

  5. I joined this forum to ask for information I am having with this company, they are nothing less than loan sharks. I got involved with them in 2006 I was very ill recovering from brain surgery (to remove tumour) in those days the DWP did not pay your mortage interest until you had been off sick for 10 months, I could not drive let alone work and so my mortgage was in serious arrears, I took out a £7,500 loan with Prestige, more out of desperation than anything else, I wish I had never heard of them. They sold me PPI when they knew I was self employed, I found out later that the PPI did not cover the entire loan (which was 8 years) I tried to get it back but they said they had not sold it to me inappropriately, they supplied a disc of my initial conversation of which half of the conversation was missing. I have complained and complained over the years, in 2010 once again I was back in hospital having another tumour removed, I contacted them because I could not work again, they did nothing other than take proceedings for the repossession of my home my dad loaned me the money to stop this but I couldn't keep up with the payments and yes they were sending me letters on a daily basis, sending collectors to my home etc., etc. This loan was finished in 2014 but they are still chasing me for disbursements which they claim I owe these costs are around £12k in all! I have already paid over £3000 more than the original costs. Essentially now they want over £30k for a loan of £7500. They have now issued court proceedings to repossess my house for the charges, the loan has been repaid in full. I wanted information if anyone knew what the government consider fair charges for letters etc., I am thank goodness no longer in the financial position I was in and so I will be fighting these charges, I contacted a solicitor who wanted to charge £200/hour and whilst I don't mind paying for advice, I don't want to end up owing a solicitor thousands if the court decide I have to pay them. I'm struggling on this one and could really do with some advice.
  6. Hi I have payday loans with the above dating back to 2012 and despite Being in a IVA at the time I was accepted for the loans which were rolled over numerous times. I hold my hand up and should never have taken these out but I feel they did not carry out correct checks which would have shown I am in a IVA. They were not willing to accept payment plans which then resulted in the debts growing. I have managed to get 3 other pay day loans written off. QQ is highest at £1,900 from a loan of £400. Does anyone know if I can get these written Off? QQ confirmed my account is not one of the recent 4000 due for refund and confirmed my account is at bankruptcy status not sure what they mean by that as I am already in a IVA. Any advice appreciated.
  7. A man in Newcastle walked into the produce section of his local supermarket and asked to buy half a head of lettuce. The boy working in that department told him that they only sold whole heads of lettuce. The man was insistent that the boy ask the manager about the matter. Walking into the back room, the boy said to the manager, "Some old geezer outside wants to buy half a head of lettuce." As he finished his sentence, he turned around to find that the man had followed and was standing right behind him, so the boy quickly added, "and this gentleman kindly offered to buy the other half." The manager approved the deal and the man went on his way. Later, the manager said to the boy. "I was impressed with the way you got yourself out of that situation earlier, we like people who can think on their feet here, where are you from son?" "New Zealand, sir," the boy replied. "Why did you leave New Zealand?" the manager asked. The boy said, "Sir, there's nothing but prostitutes and rugby players there." "Is that right?" replied the manager, "My wife is from New Zealand!" "Really?" replied the boy, "Who did she play for?"
  8. I defaulted on Barclaycard about 18 months ago I heard very little other than the odd letter about account termnination There was a letter about debt going to a DCA some months bac and endlesss phone calls I did not answer. Then Saturday a County court letter from Northampton arrived with a DCA I don't recognise out of the blue with no warning so I 14/28 days to defend. I am going to try and defend the action I am also going to ask for a SAR but unlikely to get that before the court hearing One thing I can determine is that as I took out the barclaycard in 1973 or maybe 72 they have no record of the original agreement. Is this a valid line of defence? The CCJ refers only to the acct number I think with nothing else. Please some wise advice! time is running out.....
  9. Evening all I just wanted to pop on to wish you all a very Merry Xmas and a Happy New Year. I have found this site and the people I communicate with a very useful tool since I joined and I hope as well as getting valuable advice I have also helped a few people as well with my knowledge. As hard as we may find things, as infuriating as we find the government and welfare system, as annoyed as we have got with things going against us and feeling like it is all getting too much now is the time to sit back and enjoy tomorrow and the days after leading up to 2015. I won't pretend 2015 will be better than 2014 but let us all try and have a few days with family and friends and to enjoy it. Everyone deserves a good Xmas and I know I am thankful for the break but also understand some are not so fortunate. On that note, once again, thank you all for your help this year and I wish you and your families well over this Xmas period. All the best.
  10. Hi, as someone who's used this forum again and again, and gained such useful advice and confidence from it's content, may I just offer some quick advice to anyone struggling to repay Swift Sterling, who according to some have a reputation for being less than sympathetic. I have a loan I am struggling to repay and recently defaulted on the full repayment. I had no reply to a week of emails to their customer services proposing a repayment plan, just regular sms and emails informing me of the arrears and possible charges of £59.00. I then emailed them via the complaints link on their website, which seems to fast-track through to Customer Support, with the same proposal for payment and within a few hours had confirmation of their acceptance of my proposed plan, all their banking details for repayment and happily confirmation too that there would be no phone contact. Their reply was fair and straightforward which was pleasantly surprising. A result as they say. Hope this help somebody out somewhere.
  11. Hi lads and ladies i'm new here so first a quick HI! Now a quick question I'm a union rep so like to play with facts not hearsay and tales. Ok the question. A guy/lady is called in for an investigatory meeting on suspicion of X/Y. At this meeting they are not suspended and then a few days later get called back in front of the boss who subsequently fires the person. Now it's an understanding that if someone has not been suspended and gone to disciplinary the employer should not / cannot then dismiss? However, others say they have not suspended someone from work and then dismissed them without the suspension? So who is right? Should a person be suspended prior to disciplinary and dismissal, as you would assume that if a person were sacked it would be serious enough to warrant suspension? Or can an employer keep someone at work without suspending then dismiss them after say 5 days? Just an interesting scenario that came up in conversation. Cheers Bill
  12. Hi all. Details are 16 months ago I took out a £850 quick quid loan and due to job loss was unable to pay a penny back. After a few months they passed the debt to arc Europe it's £1483. As of the other day it has been passed back to quick quid I can still log into quick quid and it says £1483 outstanding due on the 23/05/2016???? Don't get that. I have checked all 3 credit reference agency's and it is not showing on any of them but there are 5 other quick quid loans on my call credit all paid and settled. I am now in a position to pay the full amount can I use any of this info to maybe get a reduced settlement amount or do unit pay at all, I don't get why they have registered no default or even reported any of this account to call credit ?? Thanks
  13. Hi I have a quick question to ask regarding the default dates that show on the default notices that have been sent to my OH and myself and the default dates that show on our Credit Reports for examlpe, Bank of Ireland / Post Office CC on the default notice received it is dated 08 December 2008 on the Credit Reports it states the default date of 05/11/09. We have only ever received the one default notice. Hope the above make sense Any help would be great!!!!! No Money Hony
  14. I have a quick question I hope someone can answer for me. After realising how well I have done sorting out my debts with the help of this forum, my father in law has asked me to help him clean up his credit file, he has paid most things off as far as he is aware but I am sure we will have some things to fix. I think thanks to the advice I received dealing with my own debts I will be able to handle most of whats coming but one thing I know nothing about is a notice of disassociation. I had one on my file years ago because some idiot linked me with my father (same first initial, last name and a previous address in common) but I was able to do that because I genuinely had never had a financial association with my father. My father in law is separated from my mother in law, but not legally divorced or anything like that can he financially disassociate himself from her after the date they separated? She is a mad woman and will likely still be trying to run up more debt, she has also, at least as far as I know kept her married name. None of their old joint accounts are still active but obviously the financial association will still be there.
  15. As above really. I did have an agreement but unfortunately broke it, I do owe them £158 which I will be paying on wednesday which will clear the balance in full. Checked Experian today and the last update was 9th September and shows 2 payments in arrears. Called orange collections this morning and said i'll be paying wednesday and she put a note on file. The contract has just ended also. She seems to think the account is not dead despite being disconnected etc but was unable to help regarding its status with the cra. I know phone companies are notoriously brutal with defaults and don't send out notices. Just wondered if anyone knew how quick they tend to default customers?, I have been with them for about 8 years and my bills this last 2 years have been £120-160 a month so they have done well off me, would just be annoyed to default it now as I'm 3 years from being clean default wise. Is there any manual intervention or do you think it all done automatically?. Are they likely to still default me even after the account has been cleared?
  16. Got flashed by a camera (both speed and red light camera) on the A12 the other day at the Moby Dick junction.... and so did just about everyone else. It was flashing every car that went through. I'm assuming that this would be picked up as a fault, rather than dish out automated tickets? I have dash cam footage to prove it was flashing everyone.
  17. I have applied for a position with British Gas. They asked if I had any CCJ's or IVA's against me within the past 6 years. I said no. However I have progressed a bit further now and have to fill in forms for a full check by Experian, and the question is now worded differently - Have you ever received any County Court Judgments or Individual Voluntary Arrangements against you? My CCJ was over 6 years ago, and has dropped off of ALL of the credit reports I have paid for to check, so my question is - Do I have to tick yes? Thanks in Advance. Tony.
  18. Hi guys so I spoke to somebody from QQ on live chat a week ago and they told me I had to talk to collections to sort out a repayment method on the date repayment was due.. so today is that day, I have just spoken to somebody (via live chat) from collections (Loretta) and I gave her my story and told her I had sent an I/E form to the collections team and the hardship team, and that I just need some bank details verified so I can start making my payments immediately... so the fun begins in this cat and dog chase where I want the details to make payments and they keep saying they cannot confirm the details for me. Loretta told me I need to either call (which I'm not doing) or email hardship team (which I already have and had no reply). In the end I got frustrated and told Loretta I would email the hardship department asking to verify the bank details for my standing order/repayment plan. Maybe they will have the decency to email me back this time! it's never easy huh
  19. Helping out a friend whos trying to deal with WDA. Is their banking details still sort code 20/45/14 acc no 90931772?
  20. Hi there. I starts my College in September, and I need to sign off my JSA on the coming up Friday, will JSA still pay me on my normal pay date(Which is 2 weeks every Wednesday) or their will be no payment? And what will happens if I forgot to sign off? Will they ask me to pay all of it back or?
  21. Around 18 months ago I printed the letter to claim back bank charges. The amount was around £600 but now would be around £750. I didn't receive any money back but they cancelled the next months charges that were due to come out. This was around £95. Now thinking about it and with another £55 to come out on 26th August I feel like I let it go and should have pushed for more. Is it too late now or can I re-open the claim? TIA
  22. Between myself and my wife, we have 4 separate PPI claims currently pending with the First Trust Bank. These are listed elsewhere. It is all starting to get a bit messy, with them reaching their conclusions not to up hold complaints, based on various documentation, which they then are claiming after SAR , do not exist. so in short, 4 separate claims, 3 with ombudsman, 1 about to go to ombudsman 3 final requests for documentation with data controller, 1 already forwarded to information commissioner, 1 about to be sent to ICO and 1 about 3 days from going to ICO so....... the wife gets a letter and questionnaire from the First Trust "you purchased a PPI policy from us between 2005 and 2009 and we have identified that some of our customers may have been sold PPI policies that were not appropriate.. ...and you may have suffered as a result" I took it it was a generic letter sent out to all customers and ignored it then she got another identical one this time, I sent off a cheeky letter telling them that I wouldn't be completing the questionnaire and "suggested" that they sort out the PPI complaints already with them before looking for more. this time I got an identical letter/questionnaire (the strange thing is I am NOT aware of ME having any PPI in this era and the wording is "you purchased" and not "you MAY have purchased") and then the wife got a fourth (in total) identical letter/questionnaire so the thoughts on the whole thing? keep ignoring the letters/questionnaires? ask they stop sending them and should I be putting a letter in asking exact details on what ppi I purchased in this era? or are they [problem]ming?? opinions please.
  23. Hello all. I have used QQ to make ends meet in the past and although I have yet to miss a payment I'm in a situation where I have no idea where my next payment is coming from because I have several debts, etc. How would I approach them to sort this out, I'm totally new to all of this and don't understand any technical jargon surrounding debt laws. Any help as to what I should do and what I should write to them would be greatly appreciated.
  24. Used Payday loans for a couple of years, I find them handy and a way of managing my finances, never had a problem. Recently updated my bank, so contacted QuickQuid to update my details. They took my card information, which was ok and I paid my latest amount in full as usual. I then asked to update the associated bank account as well, a normal everyday thing I would have thought. All of a sudden they want ID, Bank Statements, you name it. When asked why they were happy to take my new bank card and payment, but not the bank account number they claimed it was "two seperate systems" and "it's what the system is requesting". No valid reason for this was offered despite me politely requesting. Understandably I told them I would blacken their name and they could stick their request where the sun doesn't shine. Avoid, avoid, avoid. If this is how a firm treats it's long standing customers (I have never missed a single payment ever), then I would advise EVERYONE to avoid them.
