  1. We are a campaign group dedicated to regaining the voice of the individual. Initially we are taking on the so called parking “industry” but our remit will not stop there. We want to open the public's eyes to the likes of the oppression we have already encountered at local and central government level, and will explore in an open forum any lawful ways of fighting oppression, greed and corruption at all levels of business and government. We will do this by direct action. We need an army of volunteers, armchair or otherwise, to join us and stand as one to simply say ENOUGH! People should not be afraid of their governments. Governments should be afraid of their people. Here is one recent exposing underhand revenue driven tactics, that will save motorists up to £500,000 per annum in fines for complying with the law!
  2. At this moment in time I am not 100% sure but I think my brother was driving the vehicle at the time which is owned by me, the 'contravention' occurred on 26/11/10, it is now 15/01/11 they "ticket" was issued one day earlier. The letter I have received from "PMSL PARKING" which is a joke in its self.. states I have received this ticket as a road "Legra Avenue" in Hoddesdon was "accessed" by my vehicle they also state that numerous signs and posters were placed there notifying the driver of the consequences, however after checking myself on Google maps street view I can see the makeshift signs which have been printed and strapped to lampposts. They then kindly included a photocopy of a newspaper cutting including a section from the Mirror about a person "caught" by a private eye camera which I find unrelated, unprofessional and this also makes me feel that this is some sort of fake company [problem]ming money out of people, they even decided to kindly keep in a advertisement about a cruise through Baltic capitals and St. Petersburg.. however I think its a bit late now as the newspaper is dated 2009:) They then included a A4 sized paged statement about this "private road" and that you cannot use it for access, if the so called contravention had occurred I do not understand why they need to give me this information, there is also no pictures or evidence attached and I would have to pay £5.00 if I wish to receive evidence, I am also practically not allowed to challenge it as they state if I appeal and it is not successful I would have to pay the full amount? I assumed that you would get another 14 days reduced rate?? Could anyone who has some knowledge in this area give me some advice on what I should do, I have scanned all the paperwork they have sent me and uploaded it to photobucket the link to my album is > http ://s1215.photobucket.com/albums/cc502/01emino/ Thanks in advance
  3. On 15/10/10 I left my car for approximately 2-3 minutes in a disused building site claiming to be a car park with a parking meter. I left my car with the hazard lights on while I picked up some goods. Upon returning to my car, there was a 'rude' red notice slapped on my side window with no parking warden to be seen - anywhere. The notice was from Premier Parking Solutions for an amount around £100 - and very kindly reduced to £60 if paid within a given time. Very kindly my a*se. After some research, it was general advice to ignore this horrible gorillas as they were pretty good at [problem]ming. So I did. Getting home from work today (14/01/11), I was happily greeted by a warming letter DEMANDING £115. This letter was from Parking Collection Services - whoever the hell they are. Their website gives a lot away. No info, No address, just a 'Pay Now' button - literally. Check it out: www .parkingcsl.co.uk (had to be like this because I am not allowed to post links) Also, attached is a copy of the letter I received. Anyway, I was hoping to get some help from you kind people - please please please let me know what you think I should do. Many thanks to anyone who replies. Best Regards, Lewis
  4. Hi, I parked in a loading bay outside an estate agent to drop off a letter to them. I have received a PCN for "(23) Parked in a parking place or area not designated for that class of vehicle". They have photographic evidence that I was there, and I don't deny it - however, I was in and out in about 90 seconds. So my question is - can I appeal on the grounds that I was there for such a short time, and if yes, should I ask them to provide photographic evidence of e.g. 2 minutes later when my car was clearly no longer there? Do I have a leg to stand on here?
  5. I live in Ilford, London Borough of Redbridge My wife recently ordered fireworks and because it was heavy could not carry it home.. On my way back, I stopped the car to pick up the pre-ordered firework. I happened to park in a loading bay where 20 minutes of parking is allowed. It was raining heavily on the day and hence I had to park near the shop so that the firework doesn't get wet. I also had to park nearby because I had an accident 2 years ago which has now healed but in winter the pain returns and on the day I was struggling a bit I know loading does not include stopping the car for shopping.. but does it include picking up goods It looks like a street camera photographed me and I received a PCN in my letter box Is there any defence at all. Or do I have to pay up
  6. I have just received this notice out of the blue one month after the alleged offence. I was a passenger at the time and know that the ticket machines were down thoughout the car park and no other car (around 30 parked) had a ticket displayed. We returned several hours later after dark and found that the whole car park was in complete darkness (which explained why the ticket machines were down). It was a fairly dangerous expedition to our car in total darkness. There was no pcn on the car. We did not receive one by post. The Driver Notice states a PCN No but no other details. I understand from previous threads that this fine is not valid and I intend to fight it. I was wondering if any other people caught by the same council [problem] would like to join forces in publicising this shameful practice by Swanage Council Doc1.doc
  7. Hi, I parked in a road side, marked out parking bay up a side street and (over) paid for a ticket which was displayed in the windscreen. Upon returning to my vehicle I had a parking ticket (PCN), which to my suprise was for being parked in a disabled spot. I at that point noticed a small sign, high up on a post which is not in line with my space, rather more in line with the white line between my space and the one next to me (which isn't disabled). The white lines separating the spaces are old white paint which is broken and needs re-painting, and after scraping away the leaves it became apparent that there is also a very old word "disabled" painted in the entry to my space, which is again all broken old paint which needs re-painting. There was no big disabled logo in the space, and what paint there was on the road marking the spaces out is all old & broken and was covered with dead leaves. Where can I find the regulations covering how a disabled space should be marked out? I've looked in the highway code, but its not clear. I feel the ticket was unfairly issued, as I am a reasonably attentive person and I was genuinely suprised to find out that it was a disabled bay - surely it should be made clearer... Hope you can help.
  8. Hello, I recently got sent a PCN for parking on a red route parking spot outside of the time (18:32). The offence was recorded by a camera operator. My problem is that the clock in my car was set incorrectly (after 7pm) and there was already two vehicles parked up. When I saw this I didn't even think about being in the wrong (after all - time was okay and people were also parking in the allocated spaces). Frustratingly I moved from the wide loading spot where i had initially parked to the actual car spot thinking that I would get in trouble for being in the space for delivery vans. Doing this put me right in view of the camera operator! Would I have any grounds to argue my case? I'm considering doing an FOI to find out if the other two vehicles (clearly parked in the images) were also fined. I was parked for approx 5 minutes in which time both vehicles were there before and after i left. If they have not also been fined would I be right to argue the whoe 'one rule for one and one for another' case? Technically I did commit a traffice offence but when I went back I did also notice that one of the signs is quite clearly obscured by a large tree and didnt help that a van was also up against it. Just want to see what opinions are on whether I have any chance of appeal. Many thanks!
  9. Reading the different threads on this topic I'm still not sure whether writing the "code 62" as "code 622" on a PCN invalidates it or not. I have received a pcn which has the following wording, .....(description/details of the car) was logged at 09:17 Issued at 09:23 on 02/10/2010 by Civil enforcement officer ......(number & sign) who had resonable cause to believe that the following parking contravention had occured. Contravention Code 622 Parked with one or more wheels on or overa foothpath or any part of the road other than a carriageway (2wheels on footway) Please can somebody help me on this. P.S can somebody also tell me whether this code 62 is enforceable on Saturdays! Thanks in advance. Bobo Myseen
  10. I parked in the end space of a long line of bays in Highgate today. I was a bit surprised to find the space, and so I looked carefully for any notice that they might be restricted, but found none. There was a lamppost adjacent to the point I'd parked, and as there was no notice there, I assumed that it was in fact okay. Sure enough when I returned some hours later, I had a PCN (Code 12). I went in search of the notice, which I found fifteen cars along the street, and at a height of about 1m. This seems unreasonable. How far does one have to look for a notice? Is there any restriction on the distance that a notice can be for the governed space? I have photographs and a movie. Thanks for any advice. Paul
  11. I have just received a PCN for “62- Parked with one or more wheels on or over a footpath or any part of a road other than a carriageway”. The parking signs on the road actually said it was ok to park on the footpath but only in marked bays. I parked on the road but not in the marked bays. Unfortunately I didn’t see the latter bit as other roads adjacent to the road didn’t have the “only in marked bays” bit. I wasn’t parked on a yellow line or anything, neither was I causing an obstruction, I would have caused one if I hadn’t parked on the footpath like other cars as it is a very tiny road. Am I likely to be successful if I appeal this fine on the basis that the sign said it was ok to park on the footpath? Am I right in thinking the offence should be something else like “not parked in marked bays” instead of what they have said? I've only paid a PCN yesterday for turning right where not permitted except by buses due to my taking directions from a friend that only knows the bus route. I'm quite angry at myself as it is. Any advice will be much appreciated. Thanks.
