  1. Hi, I am the user formerly known as BigGreenForest. I havent logged in in ahwile due to health issues while I've beein in and out of hospital a lot, or just too ill to do things. In that time I've managed to forget both my email and CAG passwords. Hotmail have now blocked access to my email due to too many failed password atempts, so I'm forced to start anew. Anyway, I'm in a mess. Regarding my ongoing battle with the Council accusing me of benefit fraud, that finally osrted out. They gave up after 15 months of effort, and my solicitor gathered some evidence that thier manner of what they were doignwas unethical and malitious, that he would have used in court. I'm releived it's all over, but it cost me thousands in solicitors fees. I am in a bad rut in so mnay ways. Before all this happened, and I was working (then got fired when I got ill), I swore I'd never go near benefits again. But then things changed after I lost my job, got ill, and couldn;t find anything else. Despite my health issues (I have ongoing mentail health issues with panic attacks, anxiety, major depression, plus a lot of physical pain, and newer issues such as dizzyness, disorientation and concentration problems since an operation last year) I have been trying to find some kind of part time work. I have not been claiming any benefits so far, and have been living on help from my grandmother, and what savings I have left. But things are starting to run out, and I have a big grey area. When I was working I put some compensation money I recieved into what the bank caleld a Tracker bond. At the time I was unde rthe impression I would be working full time for a loing time, so it made sense to put it into this, where the interest was good, but the catch was that I wasn;t allowed to access the money in the Bond until Mearch 2014. At the time it seemed like a worthwhile sacrifice for the interest, under the impression O would have wages to manage on. in my current situation, with no work, and no benefits, my remaining money has been dwindling at a much bigger than expted rate due to things like a lot of prescription charges and rpair work to my home, which is an ongoing issue. I am due to have to spend something in the region of £2500 on more urgent repairs to the house, I have an £800 council tax bill this year, plus the usual bills, and I am already £450 behind on my energy bill, which I am paying in installments. Quite simply put, I will run out of savings long before I can access the money that's locked in the Bond until next year. What are my situation here? How does inaccessible money count with regards to benefits? I will have a 'dead zone' with no money. Can I resort to council tax benefit and JSA when i run out of money I can gain access to, or will they (as I think), say that I have the money in the Bond, and deny me any benefits as a result? This is an issue I never expected. None of it, the unemployment, the health issues, the problems with the council fraud people, this weird savings grey area. Does anybody know what I can do? Thanks
  2. Hi All, Wrote to TMB (The Mortgage Business) last year with a SAR request HBOS responded - need more info Replied to HBOS HBOS responded - can't find you here is your 10GBP back Checked up on the TMB website and other places and found that the address I used, from the mortgage handbook, was no longer valid Sent new SAR request to TMB, address taken from the website, early January Just had a response back from....... HBOS - need more info .......... WTF! Been scrolling through various FAQ bits and find that TMB is part of Lloyds Banking Group So why the hell is HBOS responding to a letter I sent to the PPI section of TMB???? I already have a SAR in with Lloyds for which the 40 days expires early March Will wait and see if TMB appear in amongst my 'pile' G
  3. Hi, I'm trying to get some historical absense records from my previous employer. I started working there late 2007 so the time is well within limitations. I've written to them twice asking for all dates, times and copies of all of the medical notes they got when I was ill. I even enclosed, on 3 occasions, a £10 postal order, for the SAR costs. On all 3 occasions they've ignored my letters, and on all 3 occasions, I've confirmed the postal orders were cashed. What would you recommend I do to get these records? It seems there was a housing benefit discrepancy which I need to sort out and I can without those dates and notes. Thanks, A
  4. I have stopped using my previous credit cards since 2005 due to huge debt and am currently on repayment plans with over 15 creditors and have had 3-4 ccjs and one charge against my property and paying minimum repayments. The last ccj was around end of 2007. Can I now apply for a Credit Card for poor credit to try and rebuild my credit history? Is it advisable to try and get a credit card just to keep in case of emergency? If I do make an application say to Aqua Credit Card For people with poor credit, will my existing creditors find out that i have made an application? And can they pursue me with any sort of action on trying to obtain a credit card whilst I am in debt? Please can someone help on these questions as i am sure there are many people wanting to find out too. Thank you. G
  5. hello, I've banked with hsbc for over 10 years and had a credit card with them for some years as well. A couple of months ago, I telephoned hsbc to change my address but found out that hsbc cancelled two replacement cards for my credit card and current accounts. It turns out that these cards were sent out to the address I used to live but were returned to hsbc as I was no longer at that address. I was able to get a new debit card re-issued to me without any problem, but hsbc refused to re-open my credit card ac. Instead, they asked me to make a new application, but then told me on the phone that I'm not eligible as I need to have 500pounds deposited into my current ac each month. It was my only credit card and had been for years as I never had any problem with hsbc until this mess came up. Now I'm locked out of the system without a credit card. How can I get them to reopen the account?
  6. It has come to our notice that Vanquis or its referral agents are making statements to the effect that having a Vanquis card can build your credit score/improve credit lending possibilities. It is well established that Vanquis (Provident group) are lenders to borrowers who have had poor credit histories or have been turned down from the mainstream card issuers. We think that this is miss leading. If you currently have (or have had) a Vanquis card and gone on to apply for a Credit Card from another established card issuer, please post below including; 1.When you took out your Vanquis card/the original limit and any credit increases ? 2.When you applied to another issuer and which one ? 3.Whether you were accepted or rejected ? 4.Whether you had maintained repayments on your Vanquis card as due,and had managed the card responsibly ? 5.Any other info you think may be relevant to post in response to the thread title ?
  7. Hi, I'm trying to find account no's for accounts that i know had PPI on them but its been more than 6 years since I closed them. Is there any way I can find them as they are not on my credit file anymore.
  8. I wonder if you can help direct me to the right place. I am married and living in the Netherlands. I was on ESA and before that Incapacity Benefit for 7 years, although not DLA even though I might have been eligible for it as I can't cook my own meal. In the Netherlands they wont let me register with the IND but say they 'cant kick me out' of the country. I read online that I can't claim back money for my health insurance but they give me that, and I read I might be eligible for help with minimum allowance (the council over there want to give it to me but the IND say no) My husband who is also disabled gets 10% less because I live with him. So we pay out about 130 Euros a month with nothing coming in for me. We have money for our bills but 0 for food and anything else. Below the minimum wage for one person. They say we have to wait five years and also say I shouldn't bring money in as they will also take this off my husband. I dont have money anyway. Meanwhile my contributions are lapsing in the UK (I mean that the government pay rather than I paid contributions) so I don't know if Im still insured in the UK when I go home for medical and going to the dentist, etc. I have lived in holland for 6 months, I am back in the UK for one month. My husband asked me to look into it, but it's harder from this end than his end. Only I don't speak Dutch so it is difficult for me. Obviously a lawyer might know but I'm not sure I'm eligible for legal aid or anything. It is frustrating because it's like we have the worst end of everything. We have to pay for insurance but I might not be eligible now for free insurance here. I am not entitled to benefits but my husband can get his cut or we might have to pay tax back if they decide that. The worst is they cut my husband by 10% a month and backdated as well so we have to pay 300 Euros back which is an extra 40 Euros a month less, with the ten per cent less as well that is around 120 less a month than for one person plus medical insurance too. They say I can naturalise in three years but the process costs a few thousand and I have memory issues. Plus, if anything were to happen to my husband I would want to come back to the UK. I am having trouble with that too. For example, can I still use a UK doctor when I visit?
  9. help with evictions want to stop tha eviction, awaiting the date what to do in the mean time, received the form n244 need help in how to fill it in what to put, kensington are having none of listening to any payment plan in place being sinse middle of october.
  10. I set up a repayment with the first payment going out on 1st September, payment was sent 1st but as it was a Saturday it reached them on 3rd. I have had no problems with anyone else. My plan was for the total of £658 I have paid them 4 months payments and I now owe £618 they say I owe £741 and broke the agreement. The thing is they have not once chased me for any money since this 'broken' agreement happened. I have emailed them multiple times but each time I get the 'please phone us' email. I have explained I will not be phoning them, asked for a breakdown and to reinstate the plan but nothing, just the generic email. What should I be doing?
  11. I'm looking into getting a VW Golf, not sure where from but I now know to stay away from carcraft and AC. I'm really worried about buying a car that develops problems and I'm aware of the rubbish warranties you tend to get when you buy a used car. I then saw that you can take out a separate warranty on various websites
  12. Hey guys, im new to the forums - but been lurking for a long time Im pretty overwelmed by the wealth of information, what are some great sources to learn from for beginners? 13. Hello. Ill try and keep this short. I need some help trying to get 2 default off my credit report. I had a accident at work on the 24 of November and I can no longer go back into my old role as a joiner. I need to do something less physical. I applied for a call center job passed the phone interview and passed the main interview but was then told I need to pass a credit check. It turns out I failed it because I have 2 defaults on my file. This means im now still with out a job and no money coming in as I was self- employed. One is with vodafone and the other with virginmedia. There is no excuse for me defaulting on them it was unacceptable but at the time my mum had just died from cancer and I had to move out our rented home and find my own house. I managed to do this but couldn't afford the bills and this ment me defaulting on my two accounts mentioned above. :o( Not only has this ruined my chance at getting another job for some christmas money but iv had to sell my car to pay off some other bills so I don't Default again. At the end of January I will run out of money and start missing payments. Iv been told That if I can get my Defaults removed I will pass the credit check and can start work on the job I passed the interview for after xmas. My girlfriend lives in norfolk and I live in Barnsley we are going to try and get a house together next year but I also feel these two default will stop us getting a house together thats if I can even get a job to save for a deposit. Any help would be nice here Thanks
  14. Hi I have now sent two letters to bank of scotland claiming and explaining my current financial hardship, requesting that they refund bank charges that have been applied to my account since 2005. The first letter was sent feb and the second in may but i have had no reply. What can i do?
  15. Hi All, I really hope someone can help me. Long story.... Basically I run a non profit (No money involved at all) blog on a popular blogging website. About a year ago I bought access to a well known German photo website and proceeded to use their images. About a week ago the log-in stopped working, although I found a way around it by using an old login registered to my real name and home address (*shakes head*...I know, I know...) So this log-in worked until Monday, then a message stated my account was "locked" appeared...Like the idiot that I clearly am, I emailed the company asking why my log-in was blocked and when I didn't get a reply, I registered again with a different email address. Yesterday they sent a message back advising that they would "Pass my details to one of their UK partners who would take action against my activities using their website" Then I got a message from the blogging platform I use, warning me about copyright violations. I emailed them back asking if it was specific to me or whether they were sending it to all their users, they then replied and said that they had receieved a complaint from a copyright holder about images I had posted and advised I should remove them. They also stated that if the images are removed, no further action will be taken - although I think they mean by them, rather than the photo company. I will be the 1st one to say that I have been a complete idiot, I am in the process of removing all images from this company but I am completely terrified of being sued. I am just a normal person and I don't have the means to pay a large settlement fee or even hire a lawyer. I am just asking for advice as to how to deal with this situation. If the company makes contact, do I acknowledge their letters or just ignore? Thanks.
  16. Hi I have no idea if i was ever sold PPI but i would like to find out. How is this done, i've had a quick look on the site but i've not found anywhere that shows a simple guide for what to do first. I would imagine there is one and that i'm probably blind. If there is, please can someone provide me with a link. I assume the first step is to write to my current and former mortgage providers and ask them if i had PPI on the mortgages. I've only ever had one credit card about 20 years ago and i've never had a loan so it's just the mortgage that i'm bothered about really. Thanks
  17. I want to upload a video to an iPod Touch. I have done this before without any problems. But something is not right. I have converted the video to iPod format, and have put it on iTunes successfully. When I plug the iPod in to sync it, it only puts the audio files on the iPod, not the video files. Any clues???
  18. I was put on jsa in january which then turned to income support in May due to pregnancy. I have since given birth and have now been offered a job 20hours a week minuimum. It is paid 4 weekly and I start on tuesday . I know I can get the job grant which is good but until I get paid I will still have bills and things to pay so I'm wondering what other help is available. I know that on JSA you can get extended payments until you are paid but does this apply to income support as well?
  19. Hi guys. I put out a message yesterday outlining a part of our predicament with ex flatmates, but thought I'd just tell you the entire issue. It concerns, essentially, getting our deposit back. Below is a little description of our situation. I have been in touch with our landlady for about five weeks about getting our deposit back. Until a few days ago, she had promised to send it over to our new address, after ignoring my emails for about three weeks. However, she didn't put it in writing, she told me by the phone. I then rang her the other day (she carried on ignoring my emails) and she made a number of accusations of us having taken items from the house, including a hoover (which is actually mum's), curtains (which, as of last month, are in the house) and cutlery (also rubbish, we have cutlery already). She also gave me the impression that it was for this reason, and disputes we're having with our ex flatmates about outstanding bills (she took their side), for us having difficulty getting our deposit back, although she didn't say that it appeared fairly obvious. I also have to give her a copy of a key i have for the house, which ill send over tomorrow by post (hopefully this shouldn't be an issue? I haven't been back to the house anyway, and forgot about it as we'd already given a key to the new flatmate). Anyway, according to newish legislation, from 6 April 2007, when a tenant pays a deposit for an assured shorthold tenancy (which is what we had) in England or Wales, the landlord or letting agent must protect the deposit into a Government-backed tenancy deposit scheme. She hasn't done this, nor did she send a letter within the stipulated 14 days to say that she had received our deposit and that it was in a scheme. Because the deposit doesn't appear to have been protected, she's breaking the law. The law says that if she hasn't done this, provided i win the case in a small claims court, she will have to repay 3 times the amount. I'd like to know how much of an issue the claims to the curtains, cutlery and hoover is going to be in terms of settling this dispute over the deposit. I don't imagine that she will admit to being wrong about the items, and will continue lying about it. Also does the dispute about bills with the ex tenants affect anything to do with our potential small claim for return of the deposit? Does it affect anything? Finally, who do I go to to kick off the action against her? We've been told we're earning too much to go to the Private Tenants Advice Service, and CIB don't appear to be much help. On a slightly different note: She claims that we did an inventory when we lived in the house previous to the last one (we lived in two of her houses consecutively). this is simply untrue, we never did one, and certainly never signed off on one. She also said she will be doing a new inventory. This is totally lousy behaviour, she could claim anything is in the house, and there isn't anything we can do about it. Anyway that is basically the ins and outs of the situation. Let me know what you think when you get the time! Cheers guys

  21. Hi, Im new to this but I would like some advice. I received about 6 letters today from a company called Lowell for a debt that is apparently from 'shop direct'. The problem is Lowell sent these letters to my parents house. I have not lived there for over 12 years. The letters were also in my maiden name which I changed when I married nearly 9 years ago. I long time ago I did get into debt with a few companies but as far as I am honestly aware, I cleared all of my debt. I have never heard of shop direct or Lowell. My problem is my mum is understandably quite upset about this and has concerns about debt being registered at her house. Im not sure how to handle it. If I call or write to Lowell they are then going to assume that they can keep contacting me there and I dont want to upset my mother further. If I try and get a credit report for my name at my parents house will this be any kind of fraud because I dont live there?
  22. So I had a DRO and Halifax sent me a letter stating that my account was settled. 2 weeks later it was sold on to Capquest. I have send them, multiple times, all my DRO info and still they are doing nothing! Do I just continue to send it them?

  24. I work for a large bank. There is a 24 story tower I work in. My line of business is more research orientated with little phone calls. Recently my boss moved me and my coworker to a floor that is a high production call center. We had been moved because the floor we were on was too loud to focus on our work. Our manager respected that enough to move us. But he moved us to an even louder environment. I asked to be moved to a better area because the reason for the move to this new location was simply because of a noise issue. But now we're in the middle of a large call center. It's even harder to focus on our work Would I have any grounds to complain to HR to get them to move me to a proper location? Thanks!!
  25. Hi All I have 2 accounts with Welcome Finance, HP and personal loan, I know I have been charged fees by them for missing payments or whatever but could someone please point me in the right direction about getting these fees refunded. Also I double checked my balance with them then other day and it does not match what my credit file says (credit file amount owed shows oustanding balance as slightly lower) where do i stand with this? I quoted to them the balance shown and they said it has never been that amount according to their records. Thanks
