  1. Hi i am new to the forum and any help you can give me will be greatly appreciated, Several weeks ago I sent a SAR request to Santander to see if I had PPI on a loan I had taken out, when i received a reply back today I thought I would have nothing more to do than open the envelope and look through the files, unfortunately this has been impossible, due to the quality of the loan agreement they have sent out to me. I have uploaded copies of the agreement they sent to me. .( this is the quality of agreement they sent to me).. Now i am not sure what to do next, and if i have grounds to ask them to send out another copy but of a better quality that is readable. kind regards
  2. I am a student from the University of Kent. Recently I signed a contract with a student lettings company (however the landlord has not signed the client copy of the contract must I mention. But this probably doesn't make a difference anyway since there are two signed agreements from all parties with the landlord himself and with the agency.) The rent is from September 2014 to July 2015. There is no break clause from the contract either. Unfortunately I did not pass one of my exams and I also have a startup company that was just accepted into an accelerator program in the San Francisco in August, so I will be travelling there for a month in August. This is when my resits take place and therefore I won't be able to resit that particular exam, therefore unable to continue with my second year and thus won't be able to pay for my rent in the second year that I am liable for. I haven't managed to find a replacement tenant either. I am now in a position where I cannot pay the fees for the house as I am not going to University for a year and I do need some urgent advice on this. There is no way I can afford that rent without going to University, my University won't let me continue unless I resit and the next resit dates are August 2015 - forcing me to take a gap year. If you guys can help me out here that'll be great! Cheers!
  3. I'm having an issue logging into my CAG Webmail account. At first, I wasn't 100% sure i'd ever paid for one, but on attempting to register it said the name was already taken. To the best of my knowledge, I am the only person that would ever use the username I chose. I won't post the full address to avoid spam bots picking it up, but it would be the same as my username on here, and would have had consumeractiongroup.co.uk as the domain. I did send a message via the technical help form a few days ago, but have yet to recieve even an aknowledgement that the message has been recieved.
  4. I currently have three credit cards which I currently owe in the region of £35k in total on. I have recently been unable to make the minimum payments on them in the last 3 months due to work drying up, and not looking much better in the forseeable future. One of which is with BC. I wrote to them saying that I am having trouble paying, and they gave me 30 days to sort out a plan and that they will freeze the interest for one month and that I should send them an Income and Expenditure breakdown asap so that they can sort out a payment plan. What I really want to find out is what I should do next, seeing that I can't pay them the amounts that they want in the near future, but I would really like to pay off the amounts in the future, but not sure when that would be. Therefore, I would appreciate any help that anyone can provide me, as I really want to take control of this situation, from a process perspective and a financial perspective. Thanks Ed
  5. Hi I cannot open a bank account anywhere, I have tried every high street bank I can think of. Barclays briefly opened a basic account for me which was closed some 48 hours later with no reasoning or explanation. I have checked my credit file and whilst it is appalling in it's nature, lots of defaults and a couple of CCJs I was advised by Yorkshire Bank that I may have a fraud marker against my name - I cannot see this. There are no CIFAS warnings and I have registered with all 3 credit reference agencies. I have tried to open accounts with; Natwest Lloyds Coop Santander Barclays Yorkshire Bank Halifax Nationwide They've all said no. I just don't know what to do, I cannot cope without a bank account and I have debt problems yes, but what risk am I to a bank with an account that cannot go overdrawn? Hoping somebody can help. Regards
  6. Hello I would be extremely grateful for any help or advice for this problem below. The person in question cannot open a basic bank account. He has tried every bank and building society on the high st, in a possible radius and online. He has even tried the Barclays Cash Card and the Co-op Cash Minder. http://www.moneysavingexpert.com/banking/basic-bank-accounts Both Barclays and Co-op have said that as long as you have the required proof of address and ID, you'll be able to get a basic bank account. Went there, tried, no look at all. Still he cannot get a basic bank account to have his wages paid into. I would like to ask members is there anything else that can be done? Thanks for your time. Dan
  7. Hi there I originally had an Egg Credit Card in 2002,they issued me with a default notice in 2004 and subsequently they passed the account to their recovery agents Moorcroft whom I have been repaying ever since. In 20010 the default notice was removed by the CRAs as it was over 6 years old. I'm still paying Moorcroft. In 2011 I received a letter from Barclaycard to say that they had taken over the account. Last month I decided to phone Moorcroft for a copy of my signed credit agreement and asked whether any PPI was added. They said I would need to write to Barclaycard for that information. So I wrote to Barclaycard and received a letter to say that they were unable to provide a copy of the agreement and therefore they cannot enforce the agreement. However they continue by stating that they can and will continue to take any action short of enforcement, which includes reporting to CRAs without also telling them that the agreement is currently unenforceable, demanding payment from me, issuing a default notice and instructing a third party to demand payment or otherwise seek to procure payment. Can they really report me to the CRAs although the debt is over 10 years old and can they issue another default notice after I already had one in 2004? As I currently not showing any default with the CRA's this is going to jeopardise my chances of getting a loan for another 6 years. It's just not fair. Your help is appreciated.
  8. My other half bought two dresses from a well known high street store, tried them on at home and returned them, they refused to refund one dress as it had a stain on it. They are blaming us for the stain but it was already marked but we cannot prove this. They are saying there is absolutely no way they would have missed it as they check all dresses at point of sale, but they clearly did miss this and the other faults on the dress which are in addition to this - there is a clasp missing at the top of the zip at the back and a couple of other minor marks. It is clearly a well tried on shop dress. They have flatly refused to refund the dress and we now have to contact customer services. The dress still has the anti tamper tags intact with a very large heavy label attached so it is obvious the dress has not been worn out of the house. We want to take this further and will take it up via email (there is no tel number) and just wanted some advice on the best approach. The dress was £120.
  9. Hello there I posted this one another forum and took a right verbal bashing so I'm hoping there are some more people here with slightly more understanding. "ORIGINAL POST: Situation: Cannot replay Wonga loan as employment situation has just changed dramatically. I am now self employed, but certainly will not be able to repay them on May 04th - £1400. In fact there is no real chance of any more income forthcoming, at least right now, as my first product will only become available in during May. I have a family and my Tax Credits, CB and Housing Benefit have all been adjusted. However there is very little disposable income. Actions: I searched around some debt sites, and even have a call with StepChange planned for tomorrow, although I actually have it all worked out on a spreadsheet and have made all the cuts possible to spending. After some research I called Wonga to explain and come to a payment arrangement. However they refused on the basis there system will not let them set up an arrangement until days before. They gave me a load of rubbish about not being able to do anything until just before it was due, so in effect they were saying we won't work out a plan with you until you owe us £300 more!! Currently as it stands I owe them £1151.42 and obviously I have contacted them now rather than May 4th at which point I will owe £1400. I got nowhere with them and so noted down the time and name of the person I spoke to and told them I was going to email them instead requesting a payment plan. After reading a bit more on here I have got my bank to send them a cancellation, withdrawing Wonga's authority to take any money out of my account. I have has dealings with this previously when i had one coming out for a subscription website which wouldn't let you unsubscribe (no replys to emails etc). I cancelled that one with the bank and when they did take a payment again, the bank refunded it. My plan now is to send an email to Wonga, with a screenshot showing the amount I owed to them at the time of the call and the name of the chap and request they accept a payment plan. However that payment will be very low, as I will only to be able to afford £20 a month until I begin to generate income from my self employment. My proposal to them would be to accept £20 a month and review it on a monthly basis, going over my income and outcome again to review? Has anyone got any thoughts or suggestions? Thanks in advance for reading and responding. " As I said I then got some pretty harsh responses but understandably. To add to the above: I appreciate all the comments here but I have heard it stated, on these very forums that if £1 a week is all you can pay they have to accept. I did state above that the £20 was on review each month as when my product is out in May, I may well have considerably more income to pay off the debt faster. I didn't realise there was a Wonga forum but will have a look for it. "Only your I&E details will enable them to determine that." I have also heard it said that they do not decide what you are able to pay, you do, so how are they to determine if you have the means? Also, does anyone know any more (or can direct me) to information on if they can petition for my bankruptcy if it's over £750?" Cany anyone here help on advice here. I've been getting loans from Wonga month after month and I guess now I just want a base to break the cycle.
  10. got a letter to say someone will phone from dwp about ib to esa i dont ans phone what will happen
  11. Hi All, This is my first post to this forum, hope i can explain well enough my predicament.... I have lost my ESA appeal in December, my last Atos assessment was back in January 2012. I believed it was possible to claim ESA again as i had not been assessed for over 6 months, i have sent back the forms and today have been told that i am not able to claim the income related ESA as i have not paid enough contributions. On telephoning them for clarity, as yesterday i was refused a crisis loan, wondering how long i would would have to be without money, i was told i had to live off my parters earnings. I am confused as i have received a letter through the post telling me to send another (un)fit note as mine was due to run out on the 14 of feb, which I have sent. I also recieved a Atos assement for to fill out. Why have i recieved this if i am not entitled to ESA?? I have nothing my daughter has no nappies etc I am at a loss as to what to do. I have made every effort to contact the local CAB to no avail today. I really hope someone can shed some light and give me a bit of hope with discussion on this matter, Thanx for reading,
  12. Can anyonne help me? I ordered a whirlpool bath online 3 weeks ago, meant to be delivered within 2 weeks. When I chased the company they said the product arrived faulty and had to be returned and another one will be dispatched within 2 weeks. I asked them to cancel the order as I saw an identical bath elsewhere and which could be delivered sooner. They then told me that this is a bespoke item and therefore cannot be cancelled or refunded (due to distance selling regulations which don't cover bespoke items). The same bath with the same specification (nothing is being added or changed to my order) is being sold in lots of places (on other companys websites as well as eBay). What can I do? Many thanks.
