  1. Document Source: https://www.gov.uk/government/consultations/consultation-on-the-pip-assessment-moving-around-activity Consultation on the PIP assessment Moving around activity This Consultation closes on: 5th August 2013 From April 2013 Disability Living Allowance (DLA) began to be replaced for new claimants with a new benefit, Personal Independence Payment (PIP). Like DLA, PIP is intended to provide a contribution to the extra costs faced by people with disabilities and long-term health conditions. Whether individuals receive the benefit, and how much they receive, will be determined by an assessment of their needs. The PIP assessment has been designed to ensure that support is targeted at those individuals who face the greatest barriers to independent living. The criteria used in the assessment were developed in liaison with a group of independent experts in health, disability and social care and with extensive engagement with disabled people and their organisations. We have already carried out 2 consultations on the first two drafts of the assessment criteria, in 2011 and 2012. We have received feedback from some disabled people and their organisations saying that they are unhappy with the changes that have been made to the assessment criteria for the Moving around activity as a result of a previous consultation and want a further opportunity to have their views considered. We have therefore decided to carry out an additional consultation, seeking further views on the Moving around activity.
  2. I have been on jsa for 9 months, before that I have either worked or been in full time education. I have been sent for 2 interviews to enquire about optional courses at entry level 3, I have a degree and a postgraduate qualification so felt these courses would not help. After seeing my advisor at the job centre I am told I am due to go onto the work program in April so I must gain some work experience to fill a gap on my cv, by going on the MWA scheme, if I don't I beleive I get sanctioned. This would be my first "offence". I was told by the advisor she has to get me a job before the 12 month deadline, because of her targets. I have already received a letter from the placement provider so am expecting a call to go and see them. They are going to send me on an unpaid work placement for 30 hours a week. The 30 hours is just work no time to do jobsearch, so I'd be doing that in the evenings (if the placement is not working nights) I feel like I have been sentenced for a criminal offence and am very depressed about the whole thing. I am attending inverviews so will they let me go to the job interviews whilst I'm working for free? Anyone else been in sentenced to do MWA? If they sanction you for not going can they keep sanctioning until you do go? I beleive I would be eligible to apply for hardship payments? Is there any point in appealing? I'm hoping that the employment agancies will find me work but I have just applied for a new crb so that could take some time.
  3. Is it normal for DCAs to increase their activity at this time of year. I seem to be having them all come out of the woodwork over the lastfew days
  4. Hi, just a quick question here, I have found out that the director/sole owner of the company I work for has been employing family members on full time wages for a considerable amount of time. The family members are never in the office, have a corp email, or are on the phone system. I have also seen a large amount of personal expenses from the owners family such as computers, laptops, flights for holidays etc being claimed through the company. In my eyes this is fraud, and as I will be leaving soon I wish to wipe the smile of this dishonest person's face. Is this fraud? and how serious is it? Who do I report it to? What usually happens after it's reported? Many thanks CM.
  5. Hi, Basically, About 3 months ago, phone contracts were fraudulently taken out ON NEARLY EVERY UK NETWORK under my name using cloned copies of my bank card and provisional I.D, i knew nothing about this. I didn't get any contract introduction letters, I just started getting a heap of letters from phone companies threatening me for money, from £30 - £200. My mum and I instantly reported the fraudelent activity to the phone companies and they said they would investigate into the matter and shortly contact me. After some time, T-Mobile & Vodafone decided to close the accounts as they said these contracts had been fraudulently taken out. Although, it isnt over, 3 network and O2 refuse to close these accounts as they are claiming that it was me that took out the phone contracts and my real bank card and i.d was used so therefore it cannot be closed. Despite my mother writing letters to O2 and 3, attaching the letters of t mobile and Vodafone stating that yes, these are fraudulent accounts, they STILL REFUSE to close the accounts. My mum and I recently went into the 3 branch where the phones were taken out in London and spoke to the manager. He claims they don't keep CCTV for more than 30 days. We then requested for the papers which the [problem]ster signed to distinguish his handwriting from mine but till this day we havent recieved anything. O2 have now increased the debt from £200 to £2000 and today I received a POWER2CONTACT slip saying that they want to discuss the issue with me. T MOBILE AND VODAFONE were great help, but it seems like o2 and 3 want to suck money out of me for something I didnt do. Im a young man, im only 18, still young and i dont need this mess in my life, where do i go from here? Anyone that can advise, please help. I beg you. I dont even mind blessing some one with a small fee if their advice actually brings me out of this mess! Thanks
  6. Can mobile phone companies moniter unusual activity on phones, as my son has had a company phone for 12 years and the average billis round £15.00 per month hes just been told the bill for this month is £7000 and he `s got no idea how this happend, he rarely uses the phone and its the same handset from years ago. Got no further details til later, just wanted to know wether the company should have alerted him or his company that something odd appears to be happening?
