  1. Received letter today from Cabot advising a company called Resolvecall will come to my door to get me in touch with Cabot RE BOS current acct OD for £763. Also received a letter from Hoist Fianance for another BOS current acct OD £500- had no idea about either of these! I called Cabot (from withheld no) and asked for some info (did not admit debt etc) as I honestly can't remember anything about this account. This is the info they gave me... -BOS current account opened in Dec 2009 -Defaulted may 2015 -Cabot purchased debt in July 2018 -Last payment made was £30 in 2019 but was a payment that Moorcroft transferred to Cabot!? I asked several times if this payment was made to Moorcroft in 2019 then transferred or if it was a previous payment- did Moorcroft hold the account prior to Cabot but the advisor did not know. Then called Hoist -Current account opened in Aug 2010 -Defaulted June 2017 -Hoist purchased debt late 2019 but had been with several other agencies prior -Last payment made was £54.26 in March 2020- £54.26- similar to above, not a payment made to Hoist, advisor kept saying a previous agency transferred them the payment!? I can not find any trace of this payments- was hoping to go along lines of statute barred but not entirely sure where I stand with them both?
  2. Just had Resolvecall at my door RE the Cabot debt! I did not answer as he was a rather scary looking chap (I know they can not enter etc) but he has very kindly posted a note through the door.... 'In light of the current pandemic we are looking to contact yourself, in order to understand your present circumstances'..... What has the pandemic got to do with it!!? Any advice? Really do not want these clowns knocking my door.
  3. Hi there Like a lot of people I have found myself getting deeper into debt for a variety of reasons. At times I was 'robbing Peter to pay Paul', but unfortunately sometimes 'peter' was not there! I have numerous creditors, mainly credit cards and a couple of smaller accounts with companies such as mail order etc. About 6 -7 months ago I took the 'bull by the horns' and took a long hard look at exactly where I stand and decided enough was enough. For once, I organised all my debts, total owed, dates due by, min payment required and put them all onto a spread sheet - one for me and one for my partner. I wrote to all of them explaining my own circumstances as to why things have gone the way it has and was hoping for some sort of regular reduced payment plan etc. I basically fell behind payments with a few of them or failed to pay the minuim required. (If it helps I had a very bad car crash that left me off work for several months that resulted in losing pay by some £400 - 600 each month, which is a lot for me and was enough for things to escalate). I am now in some sort of serious advice about a few issues with some of the creditors but as this thread relates to EGG I will just post about them, although I have some other problems I would like advice about but will create a new thread whenever). So... I have an EGG credit card that I have missed about two payments and paid slightly less than the minuim payment, but have always paid something. Prior to being taken over by Barclays I wrote twice to EGG but never replied anything. On 17th June I recieved one letter - Eleven days later I recieved another from Capital Credit Agencies (part of EGG I think - its on their headed paper) I immediately wrote to them that day asking for a payment plan etc due to my circs and also expalined that I prefer to keep things in writing rather than telephone. One day after the CCA letter I recieved the next letter from Reolvecall with the usual threats So I have EGG, Capital Credit Agencies and now Resolvecall writing to me asking me to call :: NOTE :: all the different telephone numbers! Resolvecall called to my home about 8 days after the date on their letter and luckily I was out and left a card poking out a letter box. One the plain bown envelope simply said [My Name] "Private" So in the space of a few weeks I have had three seperate letters from three seperate people and a home visit. What can I do now? I dont want people coming to my home and I am really worried that they will try to see where I work or contact my employer. I am on the brink of ringing them up and see what happens. letters.pdf
  4. Hi, I'm after some advice for my father-in-law. He has recently had a visit from Resolvecall but he wasnt in at the time so they left a card saying this was their first visit and to call the office before 8pm. It is regarding a credit card debt with Barclays from about 5 yrs ago. Basically he was made redundant and due to ill health couldnt get another job, had to sell their house and are now renting. They struggle to make ends meet as it is so there's no chance of him being able to afford any repayments. He has had letters over the yrs but has ignored them and this is the first time he has had a doorstep visit. After looking on this site I emailed them the letter (from my husbands email address) telling them he did not wish to make a home visit appointment but they have replied saying they will not stop any future visits until my father-in-law gets in touch with them directly. He is scared to death of them coming round again which is why I am dealing with it. What should we do now? Any advice appreciated. Thank you
  5. RE: Outstanding credit card debt with vanquis bank Hi I recieved a letter from resolve call saying that if I did not contact their client Vanquis bank within 3 days they will send someone round to my house to discuss repayment offers. I phoned them up today and said that I have sent a letter to Vanquis bank today as I do not want to negotiate over the phone with them. I also said to them that I do not invite anyone from their company to my home to discuss this and if anyone does come around I will phone the police for trespassing. The women got very annoyed and said that as I have revoked the agreement under the CCA a third party has the right to resume collections as they see fit including door stop visits without invitation and that because I haven't spoken to vanquis over the phone she or they are sending someone round to the house to discuss this with me. she also said I should read the cca. Now I really don't want a doorstep visit I have an elderly father who lives with me and although I can shoo them off this will probably scare him especially if its some meathead they send round. So should I just phone vanquis and give in? Is she right in what she says?
  6. Despite Marlin issuing a stat demand in Jan 09 and me subsequently winning my set aside in march the same year after CCA requesting Marlin who Still haven't complied with my request it would appear they have now enlisted Resolvecall to try and threaten me. RE: YOUR ABOVE OUTSTANDING ACCOUNT We are acting on behalf of Marlin Financial Services who are the collecting agent for your above creditor(none listed above) We have been instructed by them to arrange a personal visit to your home by one of our representatives unless you contact Marlin Financial Services to address your account. This is because you are not making payments to your account and have failed to make contact with Marlin Financial Services despite their requests for you to get in touch. It is in your interests to contact Marlin Financial Services iimmediately upon receipt of this letter to discuss your account as a matter of urgency. Failure to do so will lead to a personal visit being made by one of our representatives to your home to discuss your account and payment proposals. PLEASE DO NOT IGNORE THIS LETTER. ACT NOW TO HAVE A POSITIVE DISCUSSION ABOUT YOUR ACCOUNT. WHAT NOW???????????????????
  7. resolvecall are unusual bedfellows for idem. recently there have been a number of idem debts sold to cabot which have resulted in them using resolvecall going by cag threads.
  8. I did call the police and they said that Resolvecall were a legitimate company, and they were allowed to doorstep call. Police said to ring Resolvecall to find out. No way was I phoning them, as I want everything in writing. Police are uselesss
  9. Now called RESOLVECALL LTD trading as SCOTCALL DEBT COLLECTING SERVICES http://resolvecall.co.uk/
  10. Hi gang, When we moved into this house the meters that were on the house were prepayment meters. We asked scottish power to remove said meters as the house was now ours ,to which the reply was "we cant get them removed for 24 months". After 24 months(about 2 months ago) we rang again to get said meters removed ,they tried to charge us for the removal of the meters but we said that was unfair. After much hassle on the phone they agreed to remove the meters at no charge. Within days of the meters being removed we were sent a gas and electricity bil l(what i think is really for the cost of removal of the meters) of around £130 give or take which funny enough is the same money they were asking for the removal of the meters. Weve tried saying this is a underhanded way of getting the removal fee out of us and refused to pay. We have since had another bill for around £230 pounds , Now i know i owe some money obviously for my Gas and Elec but really cant see how i owe £130 within 7 days of the meters being removed. Tried talking to the callcentre about this but its like banging your head against a brick wall as fa,r as they care we owe them money and thats that. yesterday we had a man from Resolvecall come out to our home state he was FROM Scottish Power and gave use a letter stating they want £389.25 but will accept 50% by friday 24th of June 2010 and the rest by Direct Debit or they will be out again the following Monday. The letter states that if we dont pay up they will obtain a warrant under the right of entry(gas and elec) act 1954 section 2 to enter the premises to cut us off and may be assisted by the POLICE and/or LOCKSMITH. We have 2 children one of them with disabilities and really want this hassle sorted out as soon as possible. i know i owe something but the £130 bill i got within 7 days of removal of the key meters seems a bit suspect, and im not getting any more info from Scottish power other than "thats what you owe us". Any help would be great, sorry for the long post.
  11. Bang on the door when i answer man with clip board asking for Mr Gardner, depends who you are and what you want i said,(he was wearing a tee-shirt with the logo on so that was a bit of a give away), im Stuart xxxx and i need to speak to Mr Gardner regarding a personal matter,do you have id i ask.yes and he holds up a badge from around his neck, can i have it i need to go and check, he gives it to me i close door and come inside and scan it to my pc, grab a copy of the i don't accept personal callers template wait a few minutes go back and open the door with my mobile ready to take a photo, i need to take a photo of you and before he had a chance to react i snapped him, handed him his id and letter and said he don't want to talk to you now go away your on private property, closed door, he puts a little card through the door asking me to call this number. I really didn't give him a chance to say much but of what he did say he was not rude or aggressive in anyway and he took my stance against him well, i was going to post his id and picture on here and all over the internet but the softer side of me says that although he works for a rancid company he's only doing a job and he never acted like a bozo so i shall give him the benefit of the doubt.
  12. nothing they can do. if they didn't enforce the CCJ within 6yrs. resolvecall are just like any other DCA.. they nor ANY DCA are BAILIFFS and have ZERO legal powers on ANY debt - no matter what it's type. if the commission based doorstepper does turn up tell your parents to film them. do not engage tell them to leave their property and never return else they'll call police 101. are all your old addresses showing on your credit file? dx
  13. resolvecall are simply another powerless DCA... if they turn up film them on your phone do not engage tell them to leave and never return else you'll call police 101 dx

  15. Well we’ll well! Got a letter today from Resolvecall (who is sent copy of the cca request to as well as arrows), saying that if I didn’t contact them on the number they gave, or the email they gave, within 7 days of receipt of their letter, they would be sending someone to speak to me. Shall I send them an ‘assumed right of access denied’ letter, or just ignore them. H
  16. Hi all, I'm in a spot of bother and have been for a while now. Being young and stupid I got a credit card from barclays with 250 limit on it. Over a period of time I messed up with the repayments and life took things to a different level and found myself in debt with 4 other creditors. I have previously paid contributions via payplan but after loosing my job and going self employed ( which seemed like a good idea @ the time ) things with money got worse and so did the letters. I recently moved away and forgot to change my address the person who lives there had 2 people go round the other day making her prove her identity wasn't me, she's 8 month pregnant. They sat outside the house that day waiting for me. Obviously I don't live there and she has said she doesn't know where I am. I'm 7 months pregnant and now really scared that they will come and find me and take the small possessions I have. I want to get ontop of things but with no income other than my partners and no maternity pay due to self employment I'm currently seeking advice to get some income support and maternity allowance though I know this isn't going to be a lot of money. Were struggling. I have a pack from payplan and I have to contact resolvecall as they will go back to previous address as threatened and the person who lives there is not happy. I don't want to give my address to them so when contacting via payplan pre written letters to organise an informal arrangement can I simply put an email address on the letter??? I want to send a 1 pound postal order to them to show willingness but am afraid they won't accept and then with the baby on the way be under a hell of a lot more pressure. So lost and confused.
  17. Oops! thank you! I took it out in 2006, but had been paying it until a couple or 3 years ago. Arrows say cos I hadn’t contacted them, they had passed it on to resolvecall. I guess they are fishing then..... The CCA request is in the format in the thread you pointed me to. H
  18. It's a very difficult story. I expect that my site team colleague @dx100uk will be along shortly and you will find yourself in good hands. In the meantime, fill this out <<<< Also, here's some reading https://www.consumeractiongroup.co.uk/search/?&q=Resolvecall &search_and_or=or&sortby=relevancy
  19. Hi all, I owe Barclays around £9000 only stopped paying the last 3 months because the apr is 23% and its killing me. Wrote to them to reduce monthly payment because lost my job got a letter saying no speak to CAB. since then I have had 5000 calls and texts, letters etc. now I have had a company called resolve call knock on my home and leave a card and the 2nd time I was in. I said that the person they were looking for didn't live here, he asked for landlord details said Im not giving them out who are you? Never answered. they think I don't live at this address now. Well I think they do he just got off. Do you think I should do anything? Seems like barclays have passed on the debt already? Any advise would be great Thanks all
  20. Got home this pm to find a letter from capquest saying they will instruct a company called Resolvecall to visit where I live, if I do not contact them before 10 June. I’ve never heard of Resolvecall and assume it’s scare tactics. I have told them any and all contact must be by email, though I did that by text to a number they called on. H
  21. Hi i have recently fallen behind with payments on my egg card - i have tried to make offers of payment which are affordable for me at present but they just kept fobbing me off with 'income and expenditure details' etc. They then passed the account to Resolvecall who today called at my door without an appointment and when i didn't answer they also called at my neighbours door. They left a calling card at my residence. I called the man and asked what he wanted - he said he was working on behalf of Egg and needed to discuss my arrears. I asked was it not illegal for him to call without an appointment - he said no. I told him that i would conatct Egg myself and that i fully intended to pay the debt. I then called Egg who finally agreed to a 6 month reduced payment plan (for more than i could afford mind you) and i told them abaout the doorstep call - thay also maintained that this was not illegal. I explained that i lived in Northern Ireland and that i believed this to be illegal. Am i right and is there anything i can do about this? Many thanks
  22. ignore them. resolvecall is the old name for scotcall or snotscrawl as we used to call them. if you do get a doorstepper, have some fun with him if you wish and get your mobile out and film him. don't engage, simply tell him to leave you property and not to return else you will call police 101. just remember the golden rules. a DCA is not and can never be a BAILIFF. and have ZERO legal powers on any debt no matter what it's type dx
  23. Back again. Received letters from crapquest about taking over my loans again and now they have sent a letter saying they are going to instruct resolvecall to make a home visit. The debt is SB now so should I just send crapquest the SB letter?
  24. Hi there I had a letter from these people saying they will be visiting me to serve a stat demand on me on the behalf of capquest. I had a letter from cq a month ago saying that they would be getting reslovecall to do this as they sent me a stat demand and they halted legal proceceedings as I had been in touch and arranged a payment plan with them (I didnt get in touch with them at all) To cut a long story short I had a egg credit card but no longer could keep up the payments. I went to the cab and they advised me to pay a pound token payment to them which I did do up untillast year. CQ where dealing with it but it was egg who I was actually paying not them. I did send cq a cca last year and they sent me my egg agreement which was taken out in 1999. I have search high and low for it since but cannot find what on earth I have done with it so I can scan it in and post on here. This evening I had a knock at the door but I never answer the door anyway unless I know who it is. Knowing they are suppose to be paying a visit I fear it could of been them. I am now very worried about what to do, I get benifits as I have a child who I look after full time and have been signed off work. I am very worried about these people coming to my home again. What do I do if I go out one day and they are there as I come out? I doubt I'll be sleeping much tonight as I feel quite agitated. I know I should of been in touch with them sooner but I had and still haveing a lot of personal problems and this took a backseat. It wasnt top of the list on my priority list and still isnt really, it's only because of this letter and someone knocking the door that it has prompted me to seek help. I really just don't know what to do and if anyone can help, I would be eternaly grateful Trina
