  1. My car insurance cancelled my renewal yesterday. I was working delivering pizzas from my local pizza shop and when i started working for them i phoned my insurer up to make them aware of what i was going to do to have the right level of cover when i called them last october to arrange this they told me that all i needed was buisness insurance and to tell them i had a part time job delivering pizza of which i did all off. But when i was on the phone to them yesterday (28/09/2011) They told me i was to high a risk and they could no longer insure me i said to them if i dont do deliverys trying to fix the problem they just said sorry we cant do that and if you want insurance i would need to declaire that i have had insurance decilned from them. But they said they would still cover me until 18/10/2011 but i cant use it for deliverys no more which i have now stopped doing as i dont want to get stopped my the police and found to have no insurance for doing such work. Does anyone have any ideas?
  2. My tablet PC has just been repaired by KnowHow. In the last 2 weeks they have given me 3 delivery dates for returning it to me. In each case the date was confirmed by their website tracking system. In each case the delivery was not made. No contact from KnowHow either by phone or email. Their customer services (when I could finally get through to someone who accepted that I did not want a fourth delivery date) are now chasing this, but it has been several days now, and still no solution...
  3. Hiya,Yesterday I placed my very first online order with ASDA via mysupermarket.com and had a free delivery code which I also used. I had to register with the ASDA website as it was my first time using it and after a bit of searching for the checkout, finally processed my order for delivery to come this morning between 10-12. I didn't min d the time so chose one where they suggested a van would already be in my area. I had a confirmation email and that was that. Then a couple of hours later I had another email saying my order had been cancelled. It said if i didn't cancel it, there were a number of reasons why it may have been cancelled, so I rang up the number they gave me (which was an old number by the way and promptly advised me to ring another number). So I spoke to the lady and she was perfectly nice but said she couldn't tell why it had been cancelled and as I had phoned up at 6pm on a Friday, the appropriate department was closed so advised me to ring back in the morning. So I just rang them again and the lady told me that it was cancelled for 'security reasons' - I had in the meantime noticed my account online had been suspended and she told me this was why. I asked what kind of security reasons and she wouldn't tell me. So I asked if I should be concerned that my card details have been taken or my account has been hacked and she said no, it was a security risk to the company, not to me! So in the end I double-checked that they wouldn't be taking the money and then left it at that but now it's bugging me as to what they could possibly mean? Are they inferring that I am somehow a threat to their driver? I'm half tempted to call back up and find out but don't want to cause trouble. Has anyone had anything like this occur?
  4. Normally I love argos but I ordered a scooter months ago and it has still not been delivered I have sinse ordered a scooter online from another company (for about half the price) and am trying to cancel my argos order but I keep getting passed around Can anyone help me? Thanks guys
  5. Hi All, Came across this forum searching Google to see if I've got any chance of getting out of a hole. I bought a fishtank for my Dad for Christmas. Ordered online; turned up via Fedex in the snow last Saturday. (I was really impressed at them getting through the snow. Driver was in a hurry, parcel was bulky and wrapped tightly inside a layer of bubble wrap. And inside the bubble-wrap, it was inside taped-up box. In hindsight - this feels a bit daft - but the driver just handed me the handheld device to sign so I did. Handed to my Dad for Christmas today (on Boxing Day as was at the inlaws yesterday for Xmas Day.) And of course on opening on the box, the tank is broken. Badly. Definitely hasn't happened at 'my end'. I've looked after it well since taking delivery. I've just got home and checked the online retailer in question, and they state: We have never and will never knowingly send a damaged item to you, but if you do receive a damaged item, please sign for the item as damaged (when the deriver delivers it) and then contact us for a replacement immediately. If when you open the package, having signed for it as 'good condition', you find the item is damaged inside its outer packaging then you can still contact us but claiming that it was damaged by the courier is more difficult. If you are unable to check the items before signing, please sign for them as "unchecked". You should check the contents of your order immediately and must notify us within 1 working day of receiving the package if there is a problem or we are unable to process the claim with Fedex and will not be able to send you a replacement/refund. This timeframe is very important and it is out of our hands if you do not contact us in time. I'm kicking myself for signing - I 've just read whilst googling around to always sign as UNCHECKED if that's the case which I shall always remember going forwards. But in this instance, am I up the creek without a paddle? Can they really just write off any responsibility like this if not reported to them within 24 hours as stated? I'll certainly be dropping them a mai in any event, bu would appreciate any advice anyone might have. Cheers Gareth
  6. Hi! I just joined to ask a question as I am in dispute with the sellers currently and need advice. I ordered some goods on Monday to be delivered on Wednesday between 9am and 5.30pm. I paid £9.99 for this exact delivery slot as it's the last day off I have before Christmas so I really needed it then. It didn't turn up and instead I got an email this morning saying they were delivering it today whilst I was at work. I'm angry because I now cannot get the item as I have no 'safe place' on the property to leave it, it's not suitable to be bought to work as I then would have to somehow get it home without a car and there is no one else around to collect it. All I am asking for is a refund but so far the company have been very rude and unhelpful about the whole thing. Where do I stand on this? Am I right to be complaining to the company who won't even refund my delivery charge let alone the items I now will not be able to get? I know the issue of the delivery lies with the delivery company but the sellers are the ones I paid so it is surely in their hands to make sure their side of the deal is lived up to? I'm getting very confused as I read somewhere I am entitled to a refund if the items did not come within 30 days OR ON DATE AGREED by seller and buyer. However I then read these rules aren't the same for perishable items like food. If anyone can help I am extremely grateful as the customer service of the place is awful, I'd like to know what is right and wrong.
  7. I ordered 2 liverpool dressing gowns from woolworths on 27/10/10, price including delivery charge was £35.95. I e-mailed them on 8/11/10 after checking their order tracker and seeing that the delivery had apparently been made on 28/10/10. I was out that day with my husband and kids and no card had been put through the door. I'd ordered some books at the same time and they had all arrived with no problem. I got a reply from them saying.. Thanks for getting in touch with Woolies. We’re really sorry you haven’t received your order for 2 X Robes [3F96118] We’ve looked into this for you and our records show that your order was delivered on 28.08.2010 Could you check with a neighbour to see if they took delivery of your parcel and are looking after it for you? If this isn’t the case, please let us know. If we’ve made a mistake, we’ll make sure you get your money back. At Woolies, we do everything we can to make sure our orders arrive on time and that our customers are completely happy with our service. We’re so sorry for any problems this has caused. If there’s anything else we can do, just drop us an email by clicking the reply button. We’ll be happy to help. So I asked my neighbours and nobody had taken a delivery for us, e-mailed woolworths to tell them this and they said . . . Thanks for emailing us about your missing order 2 X Robes [3F96118] . I have referred your email to another department who will look into this and contact you as soon as they have more information. We have received a signature upon delivery, and we will send you a copy, so you can confirm whether this is your signature. Rest assured every effort is being made to resolve the issue for you as quickly as possible. Thank you for your patience. by 15/11/10 I e-mailed again saying nothing had been sent to me and they sent . . . Thanks for getting in touch with Woolies. Sorry that you have not received information about the parcel we say we received a signature for. We really want to sort this out for you, so we’ve sent your email to our specialist department who should be able to help. They’ll look into things for you and send the necessary documentation again for you. Please allow 7 days to receive this. Thanks for being so patient. We hope to get this sorted out for you very soon. If there’s anything else we can do, just email us by clicking the reply button and we’ll be happy to help So i receive a letter on the 17th basically saying that the need a copy of my signature from an official document so that they can verify whether the signature they have is mine. I spoke to my sister about it and she said NOT to send them anything as they could just copy my signature. So I phoned them and told the girl at customer service that I would like a copy of the signature they have and I would take it to the police with an official document so that they could verify that it isn't mine. She told me that the signature is S.Cairns. I always sign my full name so I'm guessing the delivery driver has signed it instead of me!!! I've received no other letters since then, but hung off, giving them the benefit of the doubt with the weather being so bad. I e-mailed them on 12/12/10 to say I'm still waiting for this signature, got a reply repeating that they need a copy of my signature and telling me they'll re-send the letter that I've already told them I've received! I replied telling them yet again that i requested a copy of the signature that they have and so far I have heard nothing back from them! My sister has since bought dressing gowns for my nephews as there is no way this will be sorted by xmas! Any idea what I should do now?
  8. My complaint is simple. I needed a gym (York Heritage G102 Multi gym order: 35537822) delivered to my flat on the 3rd floor of a lift-less building and I needed to be called to organise a day, so I could be available. Having never used Tesco before I thought it would a good idea before purchasing to call and confirm if they could meet my delivery requirements. I imagined that would be enough, my gran used to tell me you can never be too careful. Tesco assured me that there would be no problem and that when I got to the order page I would be able to specify my requirements. Great, onwards to my gym. I made the plunge and ordered it. When I got to the delivery specification page I discovered a 50 character long field to specify delivery instructions. Bit short but never mind years of acclimatising to txt messaging leaves me more than up to the task. What do I type ‘Flat H, 3rd floor, no lift, call to set day’. Being a realistic lad though, and mindful of my gran whispering in my ear, I think perhaps just to be sure I should call Tesco to check that all will be well. Which I duly do, hoorah! They expect no problem and I await eagerly the call to deliver my gym. ... 4 days later imagine my surprise to arrive home and on the ground floor of my building my gym, no call and a very very far away from the 3rd floor. Let me tell you a secret....gyms when flat packed into a single box are quite heavy and reasonably unwieldy. Never mind I am persistent man and job got done, although I cursed a bit, sorry gran. You can expect that I called Tesco and had a word with them about their failure to deliver on their promise, failure to collect a suitable signature and failure to call me to organise delivery. I have been have assured though that Tesco has no responsibility and that it is the responsibility of the third party provider or courier company but certainly not Tesco’s responsibility. Interestingly, after I lost my marbles, the Tesco representative asked what I expected from them. To be honest I have no idea, perhaps responsibility or maybe an apology but certainly not indignation that I should even think to complain. I have asked Tesco to remove me from their database and have withdrawn any permission to hold any of my data, which they have agreed to. What a load of twaddle, they couldn’t delete me from their database if the Messaih came again. Still and all when I get a call or email from them offering some multicoloured pants I will at least have the satisfaction of losing my marbles all over again. Don’t shop with Tesco, they think are a bank and are too big to be concerned with the little people. I wonder what Occado is like? I hear great things about them, I think I shall give them a try. Rest assured I will be making a meal of this experience for as long as I can keep people attention. (My only wish is that I thought to check the blogs first) Cheers
